They really need to reprint the Master book and have only one result printed when it is the same in all three columns.

It is wild what an influence Dave has on the community. I dabble a bit in master Apba. Usually only playoff games but lately all my baseball has been master. I think the basic is fantastic for a long season replay. Good commentary. I personally don’t like your shirt. I’m a life long Indians/ Guardians fan. Game seven is something I will never get over. R. Davis did give us a great feeling. But that dang rain delay. Ha ha

Hey Jeff, great to see you on Dave's stream. Too bad it was plagued with technical issues, I was really enjoying it. And that's no rip on Dave, I understand he was using new software. I'd like to see you 3 re-do that stream once the tech issues are resolved. I've always been intrigued by the Master Game, but a little nervous about the complexity. Not nervous in the sense that I won't be able to figure it out, I work with complexities every day as a developer, no, just nervous that I'd get exhausted with it, that I'd actually dread having a base hit with bases loaded, "Ugh, I just did this last inning, not again!" I do like to savor my games, so I'm not worried about a game taking 45-60 minutes vs. 15-30. I had a game over this last weekend that lasted the whole weekend. I couldn't get a long enough stretch of time to finish it, so I had to knock out a couple innings here, and a couple there. But I don't care, I just want to enjoy it, and I did. Anyway, I appreciate the video. :)

Liked and subscribed. Good to hear a new voice in the community. In regards to APBA the basic and master game should be something people can get in one buy. I don't think people appreciate APBA double dipping into people's wallets when they really don't have to. This isn't a very likeable company when it comes to their business model for the game and all addons. I think maybe this annoys some APBA players or people that have looked into the game. As for telling people to not play it I guess the only way I would defend someone telling people not to would be because they'd be trying to put together a boycott to bring change at the company. They'd be saying look at some other games that give better value. To me there is nothing wrong with doing that. I think though it is all in how you present that to people. Now if someone is saying to not play it for none of the reasons I mentioned then I understand you and others being upset. Anyway eh happy gaming.

How do you calculate fatigue for relief pitchers ?
@Sweetish_Jeff_2 ай бұрын
@@toddhall7218 Good question! I don’t calculate fatigue for relief pitchers, but you could use the formula (batters faced) divided by (games pitched). Take Bruce Sutter, for example, in 1982. He faced 424 batters in 70 games. That equals 6 (batters). I personally don’t calculate fatigue for relievers.

My goal is to have fun, recreate an era consistent replay as you said, and find the best lineup for each team. I also don’t overuse players especially pitchers Enjoy your videos and enthusiasm I think in ‘81-82 speed factor took over, pure hitters like Brett and eventually Gwynn made batting 300 plus fashionable again

Hi Jeff looking forward to your replay. You mentioned previously you use as played lineups.. my question is how do you handle the bullpen, do you only pitch players that pitched in the actual game? If not who do you have in the bullpen each day? Also do you play injuries? Looking for some tips to start my own replay. Thanks again
@Sweetish_Jeff_4 ай бұрын
@@michaelkvitz8976 I try to follow the way the managers did in real-life, but I don’t necessarily do it exactly as they did. I use real-life injuries and incorporate them into the game. So, for 1987, I disregard injuries in APBA when I roll the dice. However, in 1981, there is a gap from June 12-August 9 when the strike occurred. I will be using injuries in the game when that happens. One rule of thumb I try to use with my bullpens is that when I have a righty starting, I’ll usually go with a lefty as the first relief pitcher. Then, if I use another relief pitcher, I’ll go with a righty. Also, I will bring in my closer in the 7th or 8th inning because that’s what they did back then. So I try to stay true to the era. Hope that helps!

How do you collate and enter stats into spreadsheet? What’s your procedure? Score a bunch of games and manually enter? Do you use tally method sheets or traditional scorebook? Would love to see the next steps!

Nice video, Jeff... When I do AS Played, I adjust injuries according how they occurred during season. If an injury occurs during game play, I ignore the injury from the Dice roll or If the Dice, boards, cards come up with injury, I declare that player injured for rest of the game... To do As Played injuries along with in game Dice, boards ,cards injuries, you find it difficult to have accurate results... Too many guys will miss valuable playing time.

Great looking set. As a Browns fan, I'm looking forward to 1986. But I do need to know the Bears offensive and defensive starting lineup ranking once you play a game with them! Are they going to 40 and 40?!? Also, Willie Gault a B/A...I've never seen it reversed like that. He's a better Medium/Long WR then Short Pass WR!

He's currently a TV color commentator for the Tigers. He is struggling with Parkinson's Disease. Also, he and former Tigers pitcher Dave Rozema were best friends. Word had it that they were both big outdoorsmen, loved to hunt and fish together. I don't know if this is true or not, but some time ago word had it that they bought a big chunk of property with a lot of land in Michigan, they and their families lived in houses that they built on that property, and apparently it was a big enough chunk of land that they could hunt and fish on. Again, that's anecdotal, but I heard that numerous times as a kid.

I've long since dubbed this "Projectitis" on the StratFan Forums. Have fun, play what you enjoy, and try not to get too caught up in the fear of missing out. Nothing wrong with playing multiple projects at the same time.
