It’s 2 bars of 12/16 plus one bar of 2/4 but it equates to 2 bars of 4/4. The number of combinations of meter you could use to think of when accounting for feel gives me a headache lol. If this were played as an improvisatory lick over a tune that’s predominantly 4/4 then I’d label it as 4/4, but all this typing means I took the bait xD

It’s a hemiola. Bar of 2 3’s and 1 of 2 quarter notes equaling 2 bars of standard 4/4 timing

I am not advanced in these techniques at all. So what is hanging me up it that in the UP TAP DOWN version the DOWN naturally has more power than the UP and certainly the TAP... so it makes sense to put that on the accent. In PUSH TAP PULL, I feel the PUSH is the best for the accent... but you are ising the PULL for the accent. That seems so hard for me.

Just started playing this. Its fun once you get that double bounce on the right fast. I started adding an inverted paradiddle to the other side of it. Think in terms of (sirry if i note it wrong) R(l)rrLRllR Pretty fun

How is it even possible that a drumming 'guru' - who was so revered by the pros - was able to dodge being filmed actually playing on a drum kit, or even practising on a pad, for all the years he was alive? It's one of those musical anomalies that is just beyond comprehension.

It's only beyond comprehension if you don't know the history of film and if you haven't looked deeply into the philosophy of playing

Bonham live from ten feet away was just as powerful as the records. One mic I think AKG 12 placed low facing the kick beater point also picked up the snare. Expensive leather jacket damping the bass drum, really nice ankle riding boots and an actual metal farm tractor seat.

Practise and rehearsal is you go into a room with a bag of mistakes. You put it all in the music and when you run out of mistakes you get out and look for your gigs.

I have done every exercise there is to strengthen my left hand. I used to have a hard time wrapping my fingers around the stick, now I grip it too tight. I just can’t get it right. You look as though you’re barely holding it, yet have so much control.
