Hey Juan. Thank you for your video. My GL350 had the exact same issue. For the people asking if it's hard? No, it's very easy. Remove the plastic cover underneath covering the engine, then the one in front of it covering the radiator. Then undo the hoses. Then there are 2 bolts on the bottom and 1 bolt at the top. Now the housing comes off. The o-ring fails because the flange in the housing breaks off on the inner side of the housing. The price between OEM and aftermarket is just not much difference. Hopefully this helps someone. Thanks again my friend!

Do you have video of removal installation? Would it be the same for 2011 gl350
@jeffhartmann4164 ай бұрын
Thanks Juan !, My son's GL350 was leaking coolant. I tried several methods to isolate the source of the leak. I then consulted "you Tube" and with several dry paper towels confirmed it was the same failure as the one you repaired. The best price for the part was (surprisingly) my local MB dealer. Not a bad repair, took longer to make sure I had no air in the system. To fill, I disconnected the top hose and filled the system.

I don’t have that amp anymore but it does take pedals quite well. I’d recommend the 100w version because it has an effects loop. The 50 doesn’t have one.

Thanks for the video! Mine is doing the same. Is it too difficult for a DIY job? Need to drain coolant?
@twowheels80811 ай бұрын
Yes the part is quite low in the cooling system so you don’t have a choice but to drain the coolant. It’s easy enough for the DIYr because you don’t have to remove the belt or anything like that. The problem is that it’s quite tight in there.

Mine is 2016 GLE350d OM642. The access to this area is very limited. Do I have to remove all the radiant and existing coolant and its many pipes and drain it before I can assess the leak situation? Also the belt has to come off, right? BTW the leaked fluid is yellow causing a small puddle in the belly pan underneath. Is this a weekend DIY job or this is a major tear-down?
@twowheels8082 жыл бұрын
I did this a while ago and can’t remember exactly what I removed, but rule of thumb is that if it seems to be in the way, it needs to come off. More often that not, you tend to spend more time trying to work around stuff. Is this a weekend project? It depends on how good are you wrenching on cars.
@gddker Жыл бұрын
@@twowheels808 I believe this confirms the coolant pipe has to come off and drained, then refilled. Eventually mine is done at dealership for $1200+ for parts and labor. This took them 3 days before releasing the vehicle. It is probably multi-day job for DIYs even after correct parts ordered.
@twowheels808 Жыл бұрын
@@gddker one thing I remember it was easier to do than the water pump. I do this for a living so I understand that it might seem easy for me, but for a diy it could be a bit too much. Main thing I wanted to show in the video is to make sure before buying an expensive water pump.

As someone who owns an original fender 2 x 12 Deville with a fromel mod, I can say, I absolutely love tube amps. I can also say that stuff like the katana and the helix have completely replaced any use I’ve had for that fender amp. Honestly, I’ve been playing two Bamps my entire life and the stuff today is indistinguishable for me. That doesn’t mean that someone else in the comments can’t say I hear the specific differences, blah blah blah whatever but as someone who’s played on two Bamps from nearly every manufacturer out there that’s mass produced emulation stuff. It’s just amazing today.

Yeah he definitely made the EVH shine more because of his Floyd Rose licks. But they’re both strat shaped guitars with maple necks and a humbucker in the bridge. So at their core, they’re similar enough. The Navarro pickup really shines with a 500k pot (on that guitar it had a 250k which cuts mid-high frequencies). The SD is a classic in its own right. If anything, the pickups are way too different to compare. I think this pickup against something like a SD invader would be a better comparison.

dimarzio has that sizzle and mids. other one has a bit darker sound and seems scooped and compressed. although that could be because of how it was recorded
@twowheels8082 жыл бұрын
It was recorded on different days. The guitar has 250k pots which filters out the highs and mids. It’s the reason why it sounds scooped. I had that pickup in another guitar with a proper 500k pot and the sound was quite different. Another thing is that this is a bad comparison. The Armageddon is a very hot 24k ohm pickup, it should be compared to something more like a Seymour Duncan Invader or some other super hot humbucker.

Swapped out the OEM original battery after 12 years with Optima Red 75/25, Optima website looks up the Red 25, but my local Canadian Tire had the 75/25 for $280 cnd ($200 USD). The 75/25 is the same dimensions but adds in the extra side terminals. Left the bottom off and it slides in fine without metal bend needed. Since it sits low, I removed the black plastic housing on the positive red terminal to let you place the red terminal wherever you want. The vent hose is now unused, but it didn't do much on my old 12 year OEM battery that started hydrogen sulfiding gassing out and stunk up the whole cabin. The vent tube leaked even when on. The Optima Red is way more CCA and AH than the OEM and may be overkill and extra capacity for a hybrid wake up battery.
