Im sorry but i can’t fully agree with Topanga on this. She shouldn’t have told him to do it. It would have been different if he did it on his on accord, then you have a right to mad but you gave him permission to step out on your relationship. It’s not right to end it because you’re mad at some you gave him permission to do. When he began questioning his feelings she should ended the relationship then. That way it would no betrayal. She set them both for failure when she gave him a pass.

Eh, I get both sides of this but at the end of the day we’re all human. We all make mistakes that we wish we could take back but sometimes those mistakes put things in perspective. At least Cory was honest about it.

It isn't validation to her, it's an annoyance at best and threatening at worst. But to Cory, it's probably only the second time that's happened to him, and the first was Topanga herself. So it was a compliment to him, and he didn't have the emotional skills to be able to brush it off. There's no good guy or bad guy here... there's two people who are coming from very different life experiences.

He tested to see if there was anything with Lauren and Topanga tested Cory to see if he would go the date in the first place. When she found out about Cory and Lauren, instead of giving him permission to date another girl, she should have just sat down with him and see if he still has any feelings for her. What Cory did was wrong, but testing him just drags things out. It’s too hard just to talk things nowadays. It’s so much easier just to throw your hands up and give up. If you truly care about the person you’re with, you would talk it out and try to rebuild.

I've been on both sides of this. It hurts SAYING it WAY more than hearing it. Topanga had to be in some serious pain saying what she said here.

Topanga had a right to dump him right then in there but what she replied with “I have been hit on by so many guys” just shows the difference between them. Because she had never once not been rejected/without love, she had the confidence that whoever she loved and was in a relationship with would love her back without doubt, basically the radical opposite of having trust issues. Cory does have trust issues and isn’t confident in love being reciporicating. The fact that Cory does this makes him bad but also Topanga just showed a moment of introspection and understood that her love being reciporicated isn’t some guaranty, she doesn’t have that self esteem issue and for her entire life never significantly realized it.

I understand that Topanga was hurt and Cory was in the wrong for lying, the kiss and the letter but stay with me here. You don't tell ur significant other something u don't want to happen, they aren't mind readers. You can't get upset it makes no sense to be upset, ur partner would most likely take u at face value.
