I just found your channel after looking up the For Whom the Bell Tolls thinking "man that would sound good on piano." Now this has to be my favorite rendition on One ever done, even moreso than the origonal by metallica. Alice and Chains is another band I'd love to see you shred on piano, especially "Would?" by them.
@YannickStreibert8 күн бұрын
Hi, thank you very much! That's an amazing feedback :) I like Alice in Chains, I will write your suggestion down. The reality is that I was able to do some requests years ago, but today is pretty impossible - work is taking too much time in my life.

I’ve purchased the sheet music and it seems to ask for consist double triplets of eighths throughout that whole bit, but when the lyric comes on (darkness, imprisoning me…) it seems you are more loose/artistic with it. Was this a mistake/happenstance with the sheet music, maybe just making it easier to write, or a mistake in the playing? Either way, the version in this video sounds better in my opinion.
@YannickStreibertАй бұрын
Hi. First of all, thanks for your support and for trying to play my cover :) And yes, you're completely right. I tend to improvise it here and there, removing the triplets in the left hand sometimes makes it a bit darker and more powerful. When I wrote the cover back in 2013, it was important for me to keep the bass pattern alive until the end and I have never changed it. Just go for what you prefer more. The right hand is the same as within the sheet music and for me, it's way more important to keep it consistent. The left hand adds to the powerful harmonies.

Totally horrible to play. But making it easier just sounds boring and bad. You need to be quite advanced to perform it properly. Are you able to play such fast notes?
@nephedel5949Ай бұрын
Ive been buying and learning your scores. Really good job. Any plan for more metal songs on the piano?
@YannickStreibertАй бұрын
Thanks so much for your support and for appreciating my sheet music! ♥ And yes, there will be more. I've been struggling a lot with health problems and a huge work load outside of music, writing a full size Metallica covers was sadly completely out of reach for my mind. So I stuck to easier stuff. But for around 2 years, my work for Ride the Lightning has been going on and I really want to finish it as soon as possible. So sorry for the lack of metal covers during the last years.
@nephedel5949Ай бұрын
@YannickStreibert health comes first. I love ride the lightning a lot and seeing it receive loves is awesome. I've learned fade to black and played it at school. People liked it. Soon from whom the Bell tolls and One. They are really difficult so it took me about 3 weeks to learn fade to black haha

Hi! Sorry for the delay. It is from Pianoteq. I use the version from 2019, as far as I remember. www.modartt.com/ It should be the Steinway Grand Piano that comes as default

I'm using this video here to show my friends that this here Metal music is complex. They have such negative preconceived notions about Metal music being only screaming and power chords. Naw, bra. Metallica can be much more like classical music than one might think, see? proof is in the puddin yall.
