I have to love Brenda more than Teresa. I love that Teresa wanted to find the cure to save the world but it’s the way that she went about it is what what makes me not like her that much. I wouldn’t consider what she did a betrayal because she honestly thought she was doing the right thing which makes it more heartbreaking. I’m in the middle with Teresa but people gotta stop hating on her too including the actress playing Teresa. Then there’s Brenda who I love as an overall character. She fought to save her friends and and her face when she didn’t make it to Newt in time to save him. People make mistakes and confuse them thinking they did the right thing. This is all movie wise btw, I gotta re read the TMR books in order for me to remember who I like again book wise lol

A beautiful love letter to Thomas because that's what it is, and Thomas knows it, too. Did you notice Newt kept the letter in a "locket" next to his heart? Thomas is a tragic hero, and those closest to a tragic hero invariably die. Newt, Chuck and even Theresa. That's why people like Thomas are called tragic heroes. Tragic heroes suffer. If you go back to the first film, when Thomas etches his name on the wall, look at the names immediately surrounding his. Interesting foreshadowing, eh? Also, Newt dies saving Thomas. Newt knew Thomas would never kill him even to save himself. Newt knew, under the influence of the Flare, he would without doubt kill Thomas. And isn't it written: "Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends." A dictum that not only Newt follows but Thomas follows in all three films, too. Two people died when Newt died because Thomas died, too. They loved each other. After Newt's death, Thomas' character is a palpably different person. What a wonderful and fantastically deep trilogy!

I didnt cry in all the movies but this, this movie hits different, first newt then newts letter

Newt's death here and Finnick's death in the Hunger Games were the two most heart-wrenching to read 💀

Newt did not deserve this at all. He was so young and had so much life left to live. This letter made me cry so much more than watching his death. If you watch his death scene closely, you can see that Newt smiles very slightly when he was stabbed because he knows he can no longer hurt anyone he loves. This letter is his wishes for Thomas and the rest of his friends and having it read in Newt’s voice makes this so much more heartbreaking. Newt was 100% the best character in this entire series. We all will miss this series but we’ll miss Newt even more.

I absolutely agree, even thomas and brenda have more relationships in the book, the thing I regret the most is that the death cure book ends when it is wrapped with brenda, but the movie is not like that, it really upset me, I wish we could see something like this in the movie, I don't understand why the producer removed it :(

“Take care of everyone, and take care of yourself” mama noot making sure his glader babies r protected until the end. 🥺💛 he’s so sweet and selfless and gentle and he deserved the world, but in the end, there was nothing we could do to save him. He will always be remembered in our hearts, and the biggest hero in this whole series. He gave his life for his friends, and fought for them to the end. True love requires sacrifice and newt showed that he truly loved his best friends from the glade.... 💛
