In eighties those disc came in unsorted, and royals were pretty common as well. Wholesaler I worked for was just running water through holding tanks 247. Unbelievably those days we were also importing red tubifex worms from Mexico. Stinking stuff from are of Mexico City. Each tank got the ball of these worms In two weeks all those fish were incredible. No mortality and no outbakes of any disease. I took the bast of them to my home 120. feeding them the very same worms made them instantly sick. Only Dylox which was commonly used could save them. I guess municipal water in Inglewood in Ca was good for them. Not even heated. looking back at this in my memory I do not even believe it myself. For insider such as me $10 per fish. Sounds like fish story to me now.

Terrible video , utterly terrible. The reason for high pH is your water is saturated with calcium and magnesium. The calcium and mag then react in water and form carbonates. The carbonates then additionally buffer acids, and the net result is pH far higher than 7. Strong acids like HCI or phosphoric nuke carbonates and lower pH via the sudden addition of protons. The problem is this is temporary - very temporary. As long as calcium and mag are still in your water they will react even faster in the lower pH to form replacement carbonates and your pH goes up again within a few days. Dude in the video admitted this. If you want to lower pH you will need to get a water softener or RO, and handle it like an adult and remove the head of the snake, which is calcium and it's buddy magnesium. You can't buy a jug of magic sauce from amazon that will lower hardness. Ask an engineer that works are your water treatment plant. You don't see them using acids to lower hardness. Also curious if those of you agreeing with this video if you got your GED yet.
