Hi! Thank you for your comment and your question! In the free tutorials we just showcase some small parts of the Zouk Atoms. The online courses teach how the structure works and give the big picture about the technique. For example: The online course "Level 1" has the content of the week of training that we give in Bremen, with all the exercises, progressions and techniques of 30 hours of training in Bremen. Believe me, it's different :-)

You know what, I think the Lambada structure follows the same principle as Zouk Atoms

That we go both left and right is indeed something that we have in common. But the principles of the Zouk Atoms are: 1) The concept of position, 2) The contra body movement, 3) The natural zouk dynamic. These are the principles and from them we develop the full system. They are not quite the same as in lambada

Thank you so much for explaining this difference, I have actually been confused about this for a while. So in a way atoms that have a "3" as the middle number imply that some atom has happened already? Are there any movements you like to do that start on an X-3-X atom without being preceded by another atom?

I think the changing of the line would feel weird for me, but I love the experiment. I think by slightly different foot placement by the leader and by allowing more air in the embrace in the turning phase it would be possible to keep the follower on her line and just briefly take the leader to another line, like in a traditional boomerang

Hi dear Avi! We can! If the follower would start the atom with left foot instead of the right foot, the contra body movement of the second step would be to the right and you would have a turn to the right

Thanks Brenda! I completely agree with the idea of having fun with the basics. A good example is Gui Prada's Fun With Basics series here on KZbin. So in principle, I really resonate with the idea of Zouk items. However, my experience with trying to follow the videos is that the explanations and names are overly complex (for me). It feels almost like a chemistry lesson, in which I have to remember so many things about each element, and then try to combine them. This is something I can calculate with pen and paper, but not while dancing. I would love to see the zouk atoms explained in an even more attainable way.

I think, here „the basics“ mean the basic footwork patterns that we can dance keeping the regular rhythm, like viradinha, bonus, etc. the point is, that there are A LOT of possibilities, but we normally dance a few (if some) and then the typical dancer (leader) go almost directly to fancy stuff
