So seen a lot of videos on this. Is the module corrupted because battery dies or let’s say you charge battery before it dies or you get the low voltage warning is the changing of battery also causing an issue

The battery does not corrupt the module, but a bad alternator does.

Hi, I have a 2006 Mini Cooper convertible 1.6, my car first began radio working some times abd then after draining the battery on night, I have to disconnect the battery every night and problem solved, now flasher has been working erratically, some times works goods other times doesn't blink, others stays on one side without stopping and i change side and no blinking to the other very weird, help please Thanks

You might need to have your Footwell module reprogrammed or repaired.

I was reprogramming a 2015 Sonata and it stopped in the middle of it wiping the calibration. What tool can I use besides GDS to restore calibration. I am looking for a universal tool that does a wide array of vehicles and not overly complicated. Could you make any recommendations. Thank you.

i am using autel programmer with XP400 pro tool. if you have the tool then from autel you find the software from their website

@@Zetartech1 I installed. Car started right up no prob. Appears the incorrect ECU as the shifter does not show correct gear with replacement ECM, but correct with original. Is there any other numbers that are inportant other then the sim2k numbers. Is there a way to cross reference part number on Hyundai/kia

@@ryanhell6028 part number is usually printed on the lable of the ecu. the part number needs to match and the SIM2k-240 needs to match otherwise it will not work.

Nope, the car will work and drive, but the windows and lights will not work or may not work in the correct order. I had a customer drive the car to my store with the module out of the car even.

Yeah but they don’t have a fix yet so they aren’t replacing them. At least not at my mini dealer they aren’t. It’s frustrating cuz I essentially have a car that I can’t drive because of this.

So I got my frm fixed at ecu pros I intend to put in a claim with bmw but I did get some info they said to install it with the battery already connected to keep it from power spikes. Keeping that in mind it would make sense that if you need to replace the battery you should disconnect the frm first replace the battery then reconnect the frm. @@alvingrace5457

Also, it is VIN specific per the NHTSA. My car is affected (2010 S HT) and because my VIN isn’t in the select group, I am SOL. Sucks.

Hi, the original Engine Control Unit (ECU) was damaged by water. The customer had a mechanic verify the damage and brought it to me for cloning.

What ends up happening most of the time is the battery drops in voltage, which corrupts the files in the module. The easiest way to check if the problem is corrupted files is to hook up a scan tool and see if there is communication with the module or not. If there is communication with the module, then the problem is something else.

Can it be fixed? Or replace is needed? If so how much does that cost approximately? I have a 2011 mini base hardtop, 59 k miles no accidents one owner. And all of the sudden no windows, direction lights, emergency lights, brakes light on, check engine light on, AC blowing just like fan (when I put the AC to the max I can hear a noise (normal noise but stronger on the front(assuming is the compressor working) when I tune it off the noise stops (it’s not a strong noise ) I’m scared of taking it to the Mecanic and be told to change things that are not related. Already changed the battery, starter and the problem persist

No problem, if you mean the cable attachement to the autel xp400 pro it comes with the tool and it is labeled APA109 and for the support you can download it directly from autel website or using this link download1.auteltech.net/Download/PCSuite/PCProgrammer/V2.80/Setup.exe .

Thank you ! you can not you will have to use dealer software tools to reprogram the ECU to the car. those files from the orginal ecu contain info like VIN, keys, and ISN which is needed to start the car.
