The play at 10:00, all interior linemen have a hand down and then move therefore picking up their hands. So they all false started (7-1-7c)

putting the hat down, is that for your state. We do not put a hat down for a player going out of bounds, if he comes back in we put a flag down at that spot?

I've watch a lot of your training videos as I'm new to officiating and I appreciate your work. On this video, play #2 I believe you missed a block in the back just before #58 gets to the quarterback.

I really like the call of the travel on this play. This often is not called from what I have seen in the past few years.

On the fummble & subsequent conversation by the crew, nobody stopped the clock. The Referee should stop the clock before any conversation begins with the crew regarding possession
@rickymorgan47482 жыл бұрын
I do not understand why they needed a conversation it was clearly recovered by the offense.

Another great training tape. Thank you. On the last play with the illegal lineman downfield, would that also be an offensive pass interference?

Louder for the folks in back! Know where your line to gain is! Ball placement is not precise. Don't insist on precision with ball placement. It's not going to work!

The back judge positioning during the TD play at the 14th minute is exceptional. Should be used in a manual.

Play 4 intentional grounding-I thought Texas was the only state that used the NCAA code. So MN does now as well?

The play at 18:30, wouldn't it be automatically offensive since the offensive player lowered his shoulder into the defensive player initiating contact?

At 18:30 looks like left foot is established as pivot, which is the reason for the travel? Close though, almost Harden-like...

I had a play exactly like play #4. Would this be upgradeable to an intentional foul, because of the contact???
@captainsportsfan4 жыл бұрын
Thanks for these videos! I appreciated the football series and am glad you have some for basketball as well. In play 5, look at #44. To me, it looks like committed to fouls. One on with a push on the rebound and another, right after that, with illegal contact. Just an observation. Thanks again for the videos.

Like your training tapes. Use them in our training here in Maryland. At 9:25 where you discuss fumble mechanics you mention putting down a bean bag on this play. I would disagree on this particular play. The fumble is behind the line of scrimmage which makes it a loose ball play. Penalty enforcement will be the previous spot or the spot of the foul. It's close to the LOS put he loses possession before he gets to the LOS.

I would of been happy with a PI call there. They both have a chance for the ball but it looks like the defender tackles the offensive player which removes him ability to catch ball.

Two PFs is not an automatic DQ. You can only DQ for a PF if you rule it flagrant. PF vs. UNS is very simple - PF is contact, UNS is noncontact.

How do you feel about the actions of White #1 at 14:45? Are the players on the sideline held to the same standard as players on the field for taunting?
@garyncoa5 жыл бұрын
Great videos and information. However officials gave wrong signal for illegal touching which is signal #16 both hands/fingers touching shoulders. They gave illegal batting/kicking signal #31 which is the left hand/fingers touching shoulder. These are rare penalties and easily to mix up.

Is that close to a blind side block on B 11 at 15:25 ?
@purduebebo5 жыл бұрын
Yeah, I'd call that. He didn't lead with open hands and initiated forceful contact with an opponent whose focus of concentration was elsewhere. BJ needs to pick that up.

@4:44 - Scrimmage Kick Mechanics: Why is the Umpire on the K side of the ball to begin with? He’s suppose to set the ball and get 15yrds off the ball ? Who thought this was a good idea? Not an Umpire, I can assure you of that! Umpire belongs on R side of ball...don’t blame the umpire for poor decisions by none umpires to move him from normal position. He can’t do his job from 15yds away on wrong side of the ball and get into the proper position without the white hat holding the play up until he gets set.
@refdude46385 жыл бұрын
Interesting - the mechanic you use on punts. Umpire in backfield? That's not NFHS, but I like it.
@hoffmanj3115 жыл бұрын
Don't like that umpire mechanic at all 12 plus minutes in. Forward progress is always line guys and him pinning the ball down when the HL or LJ may already have it across doesn't look good at all. The ball can go anywhere after forward progress is spotted. Each state does it's own thing and I get it. Rest of the video I enjoyed. Thank you.

by the announcers description, that should have been roughing the kicker. He hit the plant leg which is very dangerous. Watch the kickers plant leg, ouch
