not a silly question at all! it’s a fairly new thing we do in runs. you can use a second wii remote in 1 player mode to get two pointers, the reason we do it in runs is to hit some objects faster. in medal runs, if you’re on the NTSC US 1.0 version of the game, you can shoot purple targets and get +3 instead of -3, which can save ~10 seconds for Platinum.

@SMMidi 6 year old me would be blown away by that knowledge, that's cool. A really big thing to change between versions

haha, version differences are a Wii Series classic. the other big one is in Wii Sports with the 1.0 version saving time in cutscenes. nothing major but it’s good for WR grinding

woah, i’m glad this connected with you so much! Laser Hockey is way harder on 4:3 than 16:9 if that helps, but the speedrun needs 4:3 to save time in Tanks. good luck if you do start practicing!

good question! i’d say casually, easiest to hardest for me was Charge, Shooting, Billiards, Fishing, Pose Mii, Tanks, Find Mii, Laser Hockey. but for the speedrun, Tanks and Find Mii are really important, and Billiards and Fishing are really RNG heavy just to win first try

NTSC is the short name for USA-NTSC, the 1.0 version of Wii Play has faster load times and a glitch in Shooting Range which saves 10 seconds in medal runs. it allows you to hit purple targets and get +3 instead of -3. very silly glitch :p with really old games NTSC played faster than PAL (used in other regions like Europe), but this isn’t a thing on Wii

woah really?? i’ve only ever played the 3DS version with 3 years and challenges so i don’t know. maybe there’s some stuff they never ported though!

it looks like they didn't, but then again the original version didn't have the challenges i think

if you hold B while not pointing at the cue ball, it lets you freely aim rather than needing to use the dpad. technically it’s faster, but it’s also really awkward and precise. good question tho since it’s not explained anywhere!

thanks! Wii Play has been on Bingosync for a while but it was really unbalanced. most goals can’t be done in one game, but there are a few quick ones. it’s really hard to scout the card in real time tho

@@SMMidi yeah. I didn’t know that the wall skip was possible until I saw this. If it helps, you can change direction by boosting again on the wall and jumping right before will get you to the higher platform. I’ve been able to do it consistently and you’d be able to skip the spinner thing.

it’s just like billiards but with a health bar, every ball remaining when you run out of shots deals damage, and we can just mash the cheap healing item to be fast. and each challenge changes the game slightly, that’s pretty much it. roguelikes are hard to follow without knowing the game lol
