Per a Englewood, Auburn Gresham & Chatham-Arts & Entertainment article written by Emily Morris dated March 13, 2014 and updated March 16, 2016: "It's unclear exactly when the video was produced, but portions of it seem to have been filmed in 1940s, judging by the models of cars and what seems to be a marquee for the 1945 Humphrey Bogart film "Conflict." The video was likely released between January 1945 and September 1946, as John Howatt, credited as the board's business manager, was elected to the post on Jan. 8, 1945, while narrator Johnnie Neblett died on Sept. 15, 1946, according to Chicago Public Schools spokeswoman Lauren Huffman."

What a wonderful, beautiful, and historic city back-in-the-day. Too bad Progressive Liberalism has turned it into a ghetto-riddled town that turns into a shooting gallery every weekend.

In the 1950s, 60s, people dressed up to go downtown. It was a wonderful city to grow up in. The Richard J Daley era, RIP.

If those that made this film back in the 40's could see Chicago today they would throw up. Nothing of what it used to be--just a crime encrusted Liberal chithole of a city.

The jaunty, bouncy tune heard the most during this film is "Petite Flirt" by Jack Shaindlin. Also at 14:07 did she just smack that guy?

I appreciate that the film is in color. It's so interesting that way. I think it be less interesting if it wasn't in color. Was it not in color in the first place? Still! I really hope they a side by side remake of the entire film of then and now. Regardless of how hard it may be.

This is obviously real color. Try finding a film that offers a perfect faded variety of color.

You wouldn't believed this the British acts got $25,000 for their performance, the "best" act to "take the money and run" was Billy J. Kramer & The Dakotas because they performed four or five songs in slightly less than five minutes!!! (as if they fast forwarded their songs)
