The first time I had ever heard of this band was hearing Doot-Doot in the movie Vanilla Sky. (Actually, lots of great music in that movie). I was lucky enough to snag a CD of the LP Doot-Doot and really loved the entire recording. Totally underrated. Thanks for sharing!

What exactly does Freur mean?🤔
@kajafreur5272 жыл бұрын
It's the phonetic sound of a symbol that was originally the band's name, like what Prince did, but they had to have a written name, so they decided that's how it was pronounced and then that's what everyone else used to refer to the band, so they became "Freur".

Not only does Freur put on a awesome performance...but I just have to say tho, I really really love Karl Hyde's Singing! The way he's soo playful! I love this band!

Fantastic nights, bloody hot. I remember being next to the stage and wearing my jacket as later it was a bugger to get coats from the cloakroom. Sweating pints in the winter, all worth it with a great bunch of blokes, even that Poodle bloke Bryn. 😂👏🏻Cheers for the memories Karl, Rick, Alfie and Bryn, stay healthy.🍻🍹

I saw this on TV in November of 1985. I was in the US Air Force on a temporary duty assignment to Howard AFB in Panama. The concert was an episode of a music showcase series called "Live From London" (or was it "New From London?). "It was re-broadcast on TV via the Armed Forces Radio & TV Service (AFRTS). It was a boring, eventless night at work and this concert came on the TV we had in the shop. I was captivated. Needless to say, I am grateful these videos were posted, and still remain accessible. Some years ago, I downloaded each video and joined them together in order, then preserved to DVD so I can watch the entire concert un-interrupted. I wish I could find a broadcast quality version of this. It is everything good about 80's UK music. If I were pressed to show someone today a single great example of the 80's UK pop/new-wave scene, I would show them this concert. During my 20 years in the Air Force, I have had the good fortune to have been on temporary duty in the UK 3 times in the mid-80's (visiting London all three times), as well as having enjoyed a long-term assignment of 4 years in the 90's. I was stationed at RAF Uxbridge with the heart of London only a short 20-min Tube ride away. Three of my fondest musical memories during this time was seeing Jethro Tull's 25th Anniversary At the Hammersmith Apollo, Steeley Dan at Wembley Arena, and the Rolling Stones Voodoo Lounge Tour at Wembley Stadium. The Wembley complex was only 30 min. from my house near Watford, UK!
