Thanks steve. You may find it better if you had a puller bung ? I have poles only 6 mtr and i dont even use it at full length. I dont see the need to go 13/14/16 mtrs, cant see float anyway .

I find that too. I still rarely use the pole, but I find it so enjoyable when I do. Need to use it more and get more practice in with it really 😊👍🎣

I used to fish from my workplace right opposite where you were on your video. That was 40 years ago and no one believed there were fish in there until I brought a keep net one day and showed them the catch . You have a great attitude towards your fishing and make fun videos, keep up the good work :)

A very nice video, thanks for sharing! Primarily because of the convenience, I also usually fish the nearby river and neglect more exciting fishing waters for which I would have to travel further. I love short old Winklepicker rods with an old-fashioned soft action, especially for cramped and overgrown fishing spots.

Thanks for the latest video 👍 my wife and I usually fish near Avon bridge. Just a 4 metre whip with bread or worms. Have had some nice Roach and Bream from that area. Out of interest , where do you get your maggots from? Cheers

Have not caught a gudgeon for years. Not many places near me where I can. Mostly commercial fisheries. Fed up catching carp. Want to get the float out catch some natural species. Love the videos.

I've hooked what must have been a Carp in the feeder, but with very light line, I had no chance of landing it. I've seen another a gler catch a Carp from Bathurst Basin, but mostly Bream 😊👍🎣

It was something I picked up from Rex Hunt when I was a kid. 'Kissing em, throwing them back', a catch and release program. True, they could have something, but people are more than happy to kiss dogs and cats, and they lick their own bums 😅 😊👍🎣

It may seem like that in the edit and I apologise for that. I will say that I am very mindful that when it comes to getting video content for things like this it can be a juggle with trying to film and fish care. I dont show it enough, I agree, but I always follow these rules behind the scenes: I always have a net under the camera, so if the fish jumps, it just pops back into the net. Which is always wet. For a larger fish, I keep it in the net in the water between shots. For smaller fish I have one of those collapsible bucket/bag things with a rope on. Often used for collecting water to put on unhooking mats, or a bait tub of venue water. Between shots the fish is put in that to keep wet. Or back in the net like a big fish. If a fish looks to be in ANY trouble, it just goes back unfilmed. Simple as that. I'll endeavour to make sure I show that in future videos more often. I think I'll even do a video one day showing what filming a video while fishing actually entails.and give a behind the scenes of all I try to do to get the balance right. Forget a lovely long day of fishing, thats for sure, half the day is spent filming. 😊👍🎣

Just liked and subscribed. I’m keen LRF angler based in sunny Cornwall. On the rare occasions I find myself in Bristol, my first attempt to fish there cost me most of my LRF gear. However, I’ve braved it again today. I’m staying at Temple Meads; can you suggest the best spot for me to try for a few small species? I use micro lures and isome worms, so I’m guessing perch will be good, but silvers will also take isome. Would Bathurst Basin be my best bet, or should I have a wander along the canal? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Great watch well done. Were going AP with my kids on saturday. We will probably spend most of our time on this lake as my lads want to fish for their first carp. Can i ask what bait you were using as freebies and hookbait please. Many thanks

Just a few little micro pellets and maggots. They really weren't bothered what it was, just that there was plenty of it going in 😊👍🎣

Thank you! I know I'm not the only one suffering, but, when black dog visits that's how I feel. I'm now coming 62 & depression has followed me since the age of 12, I need the release that nature gives, whether out with my bins doing a bit of birding or sat on the bank anticipating the next fish, it's raining, its windy, it's boiling hot or freezing cold, anything is better than feeling that there's a heavy dark blanket draped over me. I am here for anyone who wishes to drop a comment & help each other defeat our hidden enemy. Go quietly amidst the noise & haste & remember what peace may be found in silence....🐟🪱🎣👍

Great video 👍 I found your channel searching for bullhead fishing, I did a species hunt last year for the first time managing 39 fresh/sea fish and this year I'm up to 47 it's been fun but hard work so want to give it all this year to never do it again! 😅 I spoke to the owner of finch farm after watching this and will be doing 8hrs in the car to get a punkin fish and it'll be worth it if I do they look great and 🤞 for a gold fish too 👍 love the channel tight lines

Hi Steve, recently found your channel and really enjoying your videos.Enjoy your relaxed and humurous attitude towards fishing. It's not always about catching big nets of fish is it, it's about relaxing and enjoying nature too.Suffer with depression myself and anxiety and find fishing has that calming effect when surrounded by nature . Anyway i have subscribed and look forward to watching more of your vlogs.

Good vid, i would have gone onto the sweetcorn or pellets earlier like you said you were going to instead of maggots, i reckon you would have had a few more tench instead of the little Rudd n perch. I too suffer badly from depression so thanks for sharing your struggles, it helps when you realise your not alone.
