There is no currently produced pack film. However there are $450 drop-in units that allows use of common Instax Square and Wide film packs.

It seems that the "Power Ranger" is no longer available. Anyway, I'm a fervent follower of KISS methodology so... Why not, instead of mocking with the camera hardware, you do it with the cartridge instead? For example: create a reusable battery "addon" (maybe adhesive) for i-Type film packs using button batteries (which are flat)? Think of this as the ND filter for SX-70: you won't lose/risk anything in the camera by adding it...

Hi Jerry--very informative video. I have a MiNT670S, and I'm interested in the Power Ranger. I'm at my wits end. There are two models for the Power Ranger. One is for SX70 cams, and the second, higher power and more expensive one for the Sonar series cams. I've gotten info from both directions: The lower power version works fine with the 670S, but Rezivot suggests the more powerful version. I don't want to fry the Time Machine, so I hesitate to order the version Rezivot suggests, but they did mention something about overload protection getting wiggy with the lower power version. Which version did you use in this video, with both the Mint and a Sonar? I'm really confused; any help would be greatly appreciated. Keep up the good work!--Steve
@JerryMilton2 жыл бұрын
In this video it is the "lower power" version as that is all they had at the time. I do have the newer *680" higher power one now as well... But only use it on my 690 and 680. The lower power one will work fine on you 670S.
@steveburns97222 жыл бұрын
@@JerryMilton Thank you, Jerry. Rezivot suggested I buy the higher powered one "as there is a shutoff issue". The Mint 670 is an SX-70, non SONAR, and without the flash; I assumed that was the more appropriate one. "PolaroidJay" on Instagram has used the lower-powered version without any issues, and was surprised that Rezivot would suggest the higher powered version. I thank you sincerely for your input and experience. Be well; namaste.--Steve Burns

Just got one and installing it now on my SLR 680 as I watch your video. It’s charging up actually and I’ve already made the holes in the leather and waiting to mount it. I agree about the clip/bracket retainer inside the camera. I’m afraid to remove it because of damage that might happen from a screwdriver slip or snap and I don’t want to alter the camera too much. Great tip using a card to help insert the film by the way, I’ll definitely do it that way. I’ll comment back letting you know how it all went and works when it’s done charging. Great video, thanks !!!!

When I was at Northside School one day, we went swimming up at the Hubbard tank that was up in the hospital. I saw Mr.Dominice with a box of flashbulbs under one arm, and he also had the Polaroid camera with him. I also felt a very, very sicl, frightened feeling inside me, which was fear, because I was very, very afraid of cameras- a camera frightened me to death, especially when the flash went off,and I would yell, scream, and cry, because I was so afraid of a camera. Mr. Domince took some flash pictures of us, and I sobbed in Miss Carol's arms, because I was very, very afraid of the camera and the flash. "The camera would never hurt you, or harm you. A camera is nothing to be afraid of. It's a very harmless thing. I know that you're very afraid of cameras," Miss Carol said to me. "Maybe your mom and dad could get you a camera for Christmas, and you won't be afraid!" Miss Carol and Mr.Dominice said to me. A few days later, it was Christmas Day, and I opened my presents. Dad handled me a present, and I opened it. Out came a box. "Kodak Instanatic S-20 Camera Outfit!" it read. I opened the box. "No flashcubes, son, so don't worry!" Dad said. I opened another gift. Out came a record album. "Thirty Great Hits By Thirty Great Country Artists!" it read. "Oh boy!! I got a country and western album!! Country and western- YEE-HAA!!" I yelled. "And a ya-he!" Mom said. -Mark Weintraub.

Someone gave me this canmera... The Polaroid 100 Automatic Land Camera... with all its accessories... case... everything... I see price varying so much. Supposing it works fine... which it does.. and everything is in great condition, which it is... How much is it worth? A few hundred? Less? I see on eBay some selling the camera with all its accessories for just $30.... that can't be right tho... Anyone know the general price range for selling this entire Polaroid 100 Land Camera w/all it's accessories?

Hi Sr. Hope you are still there, it's only one year old this video. I recently got a beautiful Polaroid camera land auto 100. Still some film inside. I want to open it to check by looking through the lens if it's really shooting. I don't want to waste any single mm2 of a film not matter if it's expired. My logic tells me that I can as long I don't pull out this "paper" that protects the film from light. But I'm not sure. Any thought? Hope you got what I meant and have time and kindness to answer. Thanks

Unless the film has been refrigerated since purchase it probably will be damaged by age. The last pack film was sold by Fujifilm but was discontinued in 2016. There is $450 back replacements on EBay that allows the use of Fujifilm Square or Fujifilm Wide film which is readily available.

@JerryMilton3 жыл бұрын
The "release" is actually a little left of center as one holds the camera in your hand w/ the camera facing you. Hard to explain. So you might try there.

She was amazing! But Gary's vocal agility just slays me! I always felt they should have been a big headliner...and I felt so fortunate to see them in small clubs.

@cameronmearkle15663 жыл бұрын
Hey, Manuel!! Check to make sure the battery compartment is clean and not corroded. Also, you will need a new battery equivalent to 4.5 Volts, which is easily found online! If you have done that, and it still does not work, check the contacts on the flash cable. Be sure to also check if the flashbulbs are not spent. If all of those things are good, I would recommend buying a new flash unit. Let me know!

I can't justify the price for the unit. I know it's directed at the professional market, and for sure a hit at the photo building at RIT. But for 800 bucks, and considering the inconsistency of the medium, it just seems like overkill. No matter how good a camera you use, the instant film has limits.
@JerryMilton4 жыл бұрын
"directed at professional market" ? So I suppose that means the SX-70 when it was released was directed at the pro market as well as it was well above $800 bucks. As for inconsistency of the medium....Instax is as consistent as it gets. Temp doesn't effect it. Meanwhile Polaroid shits the bed with ANY temp fluctuation.

A good review. I got my RF70 autumn 2018 but have not yet used it much. My camera allows the self timer by quickly tapping 2 times but in the end I prefer an autoknipps device. The auto mode indicates which ND filter to use but from my experience so far, it's not always spot on, so I presume that in more difficult situations it's better to use the camera in manual mode and measure the light with a light meter or App on the smartphone, however I have not yet tried it.
@JerryMilton4 жыл бұрын
I did talk to Gary and he did confirm the production models do have the double tap for self timer. I reckon I got scared away on it cuz I tried and tried on the Prototype to no avail, haha. Thanks for the info.

Even the coolest helmet on the planet is worthless if it's too small to wear. I don't know why these manufacturers assume all humans are the same size. (Well, okay --- yes I do. By limiting the size range, they limit the tooling costs for production. If larger sizes like mine are a rarity, it doesn't pay to spend the extra money to make sure they have a product that works for me. #bigheadsmatter )

Hi Jerry-- I am wondering if leaving that "lip" on the cartridge but removing the film shield from the camera would work? Have you tried this?
@JerryMilton4 жыл бұрын
Remove the frog tongue? I don't think it would have help. The film gets stuck even before it hits the frog tongue. I think taking off the mylar on the cartridge makes the film spit out at a different angle. Not that it matters anymore since Polaroid threw in the towel (blaming the camera, which is BS)
