Got a big type 2 and it’s awesome. I get asked about it almost every time someone sees it. But, I got a small blue type 1 for Father’s Day last year and it’s leaks around the base of the spout. It’s unusable, quite a bummer, especially for the price of them.

I've Noticed a slight variation on the type II Accuflow 5gal. saftey cans ... some have only 1 cross bolt at the base of the handle while others have 2 ... and also noticed that the cans with 2 cross bolts in the lower part of the handle , they have 4 bolts instead of 3 on the upper part of the opening valve that tge spout attaches to... and those also have 2 less bolts holding the entire assembly to the can .... (Am i looking at a heavy-duty model, or was there a Design Change or perhaps manufactured from two different locations .. or is one simply a knockoff ) Thank You

im storing gasoline 15% ethanol do i need a pressure vent? and if yes what pressure?
@eyesonly4451 Жыл бұрын
Same question here. I've seen KZbin vids where showing gasoline initially stored a freezing temperatures, can produce up to 15+ psi vapor pressure as temps rise to 100-degrees. I suspect that if storage temperature ranges can be kept to a more moderate range, vapor pressure increases will be less. I'm planning on storing fuel in a 55-gallon steel drum with some amount of temperature control. So I found a 3/4" NPT brass pressure relief valve on Amazon that's fixed at 5 psi relief. It's a work in progress.

Which would be best for filling up riding mower, weed eater, blowers, and occasionally maybe adding gas to a vehicle between the type 1 or type 2 gas cans? Thank you, John
@JustriteMfg Жыл бұрын
Type I safety cans only have 1 opening - pour & fill from the same opening. Type II safety cans have 2 openings - one for pouring and one for filling - the fill opening serves as a vent when pouring. The best gas can to choose depends on your needs. “Gas Can vs Safety Can” is a related article you may find useful. eagle.justrite.com/safety-storage/industrial-safety-cans-vs-gas-can

@@JustriteMfgmusic to my ears. This can while costly really seems better than these crap ones which were better until they starrdf making very odd saftey mechanisms out of plastic. just how effective is the flame arrestor? If I lit the stream of gas coming out of the spout would the flame arrestor prevent the entire tank from exploding? Also do these tanks leak combustible fumes over time, when kept below 90 degrees and out of the sun?
@JustriteMfg Жыл бұрын
A flame arrester works by providing rapid dissipation of heat from a flame, quenching the flame, to prevent flame propagation to the vapor space inside the safety can. @@1w72st Thanks, 1w72st. My problem is I can't get the gas nozzle past the snap-downlit on the JustRite, meaning the vapor collection lip on the nozzle will not seat against the can fill port. The pumps will therefore not come on. Where do you live in CA? I've heard that some rural areas in CA do not have the vapor collection nozzles. I keep wondering if I'm missing something cuz it really is a great looking can. Moreover, that snap-down lid seems to be aimed at controlling gasoline vapor escape just like the CA filling station pump nozzles are.
