@@garrysimpson1395 Yes, I was there too. Strongest memory was FGTH. The audience was largely made up of "Punters", the name given to a group given free passes, on the proviso they looked lively during all acts. Still got my treasured "Punters Passes".

@@franceskelly534 Thank you for your reply. This was in the day when Channel four programmes were 50% produced by Regional IT.V. compnies. The Tube was produced of course by Tyne Tees Television for Channel Four. Were The Punters all from the Tyne Tess television region?

Saw them at West Runcton, Norfolk around 1979. They were brilliant. So much energy and Mike was on fire. He also had some plasters over his eyes as a result of some overactive crowd participation. But the show must go on, and it certainly did.

saw them supporting the stray cats around '81 at the strand lyceum, togged out in all their pirate finery. the cats were great but the pirates blew the roof :)
