I just walked out my job two days ago. Our new Manager thought he was God! The guy was such a gaslighter. I told him F U, and walked out after 4 years at that place.

I left a toxic job July 15. I was stressed every day for 3 years. I wrote several statements with evidence. My statements gave management a reason to phase out my job. Management started cutting my hours, they would have me come to work just to tell me we was over staff, when it was my schedule shift to work. They used agency nurses to work in my place. Some weeks I would get my hours other weeks I would get less than 36 hours a pay period. They had the nerve to deny my PTO to fill in the hours I was missing. It's sad managers are paid to manage problems. They just act like they don't exist. I sent emails to the corporate office, but they never responded. When they was trying to get rid a the Administrator for stealing money from the residents & covering up a Nurse sleeping with a resident, which is abuse. Corperate answered every call & emails.

I've had four bullying bosses in my career - my current boss, I feel, is one. This morning, she gave me a task to do, I wasn't comfortable with. I listened to her what she wanted from me, and despite my reservations, I said okay. Suddenly, she snapped at me, complaining that if I am okay with it, why haven't I done it yet? And when I responded because the customers started coming in, so I didn't have time to do it. And she stated how she didn't like how I was gestering my hands out, which is crazy - it was kinda like she was baiting me into an argument. I mean, how else was I supposed to respond? After bullying boss #2, I vowed to myself to never work for someone like that again - I guess I'm still slow to learn that lesson....

In Israel the law states that before letting off an employee there is a hearing procedure. Bullying an employee might get the company into a lawsuit.

Bullies don’t just yell and criticize, they spead rumors, they mishold information, they make others do the work and they get the credit. They always have an excuse to as to why they’re not training you if you push them.

Reason #1 I've had more of those than anything else, even with one of my current job. Reason #2 One of my current jobs is in this position. #3 The place I'm at I feel like is doomed after the first month of being there. Reason #4 Everyone at the place I'm working at is lacking the appreciation for me being there and actually doing the job. I honestly don't get very much thanks nor does any of the Shift Leads or my manager is willing to talk to me about improving on over time.

Been involved in a coupla workplace bullying cases in nz, its absolutely rife here. Im no lawyer but ive been on the receiving end of this behaviour myself to a point it affected my mental health. At that time i wasnt aware of the term "workplace bullying", i just thought i had arsehole bosses. Because i stood upto my management for treating my staff like shit that was the start of a 2 year battle which ultimately led to me leaving after all my staff who stood by me left as well. There was no end or limits to the appalling actions they carried out. The biggest issue ive found time and time again is that people in general are scared to speak out for fear of retribution or loss of job, and thats understandable when your job = your income which directly affects your ability to support yourself and/or your family. But i whole heartedly agree with this video, it takes a good person to stand their ground and speak up n hold the bullys accountable and expose them for what they are, the next biggest problem ive seen is having genuine reliable gutsey work colleagues who will write statements supporting you if they have seen or been witness to any incidents for if you need to take the matter further, once again fear of the bully and loss of employment stops these people supporting others who are being bullied. Grow a set and stand together and support each other if you ever find yourself in these horrible situations. By ignoring what you're seeing is only enabling the bully to continue what they love doing, also depending on how strong a person you are i feel just giving up and leaving the job is not helping whoever takes your place, if you leave your job without raising this behaviour the bully has won and will continue doing the same thing to the next person, and the next person, and the next. Be the one who stands up for whats right. Unbelievable how so many workplaces encourage and enable this toxic behaviour to exist in their businesses. I believe there should be a country specific whistle blowing social media platform available for people to name and shame these individuals and companies because it seems thats the only sort of attention that they give a shit about not receiving, watch them all jump if a platform like that was available because they all think they are invincible carrying like they covertly but push them into the public eye and lets see how confident and accepting they are then about their behaviour, especially when more and more people name and shame the same ones consistently. We have a very staunch guy over here in new Zealand named Allen Halse, he represents people who have been bullied and he has exposed many individuals and companies about their behaviour, they have done their best to shut him down but so far failed, but this is what it takes, pull the bullies out from the dark where they feel safe and put the spotlight on them, see how cocky they are then in front of a whole countries audience.

Bulling is a complex mix of perception, experience and effect. Sometimes the alleged bully are not aware of the consequences of their behaviour even when the problems are evident to those around them. A lone bully can be dealt with as suggested here, however if the organisation supports the bullies behaviour (usually evident by the presence of a wide spread toxic environment) then walking away may be the only option.

Great tips except: When you’re providing for your family, getting fired for standing up for yourself makes your whole family pay for it. It’s a LOT more complicated than it’s made out to be. Plus, you’ll have a negative review from that employer for future references.

I left a job after 2 years because of lack of growth and development. I had found another job and only worked a week there but couldn’t bring myself to get into the office the next week due to a snotty boss as you described in your video. He was already instigating than me and another colleague were going to fight each other. The boss would cut me off whenever I was try to communicate. It sucked that I had to make a decision to leave after being on a month notice for this job in line but I quit it. I gave them another excuse though and not the real reason, in case any other future employers asked why I left. However, I did find a new job that I start next week. It was considered a good company too. I am confident the workplace culture will be so much better

Hi sir, I jut want to ask how can you leave a bullying boss when they don't want to fire you or if they prevent you from resigning because the victim is their top employee?
@re-nz3sk Жыл бұрын
1) simple favoritism 2) don't engage with employee...they can't recall the last time in 8 years you've gone to lunch with them 3) manager doesn't clear obstacles 4) offices open up and they're given out without any apparent reason 5) a job where the HR person says "nobody knows what you do", do to the specialized skillset needed

People work for money. Appreciation would be a raise or even a quarterly bonus. We all know how fellow employees feel when company hits record profits but the pay stays the same. It's highly demoralizing. Yet management still gets their bonuses even if annual profits decline. Proper appreciation = moore money.

I'm going to quit my job and work at a coffee shop, but the application asks for my previous employer and contact number. I need her to write well of me so I can get the job. But after I get the job and quit my current one, I want to write my boss a letter, _finally_ standing up to her for her toxic behavior. Is it risky? Can she just contact the coffee shop and tell them what I wrote to her? She needs to hear how she made me feel weak and stupid and undermined.

0:57- I don't always find bully's to be that direct, most of the controlling people I have dealt with in my life prefer a more subtle in-direct method. they prefer to let lies, gossip, slander, gaslighting and their own good reputation with the other family members do their dirty work for them rather than to directly put you down or intimidate you. In public they are charming, relational, kind and generous. Only one on one in the home or behind closed doors do they truly show their face. Are saying a bully for a boss is often more direct and public than this.

Sorry, I might be missing something here but how is getting fired _not_ letting your boss win? That is like the ultimate winning move for them and as an employee there's virtually nothing you can do about it. Also, what do you do when your boss is sneaky and only pulls this crap when there's no one else around? None of it is ever done via text or email, it is always verbal so unless I start secretly recording the conversation, I have no evidence of it ever occurring. Whenever I attempt to stand up for myself, he will gaslight me and say "you're blowing it out of proportion" or straight up "I never said that". If I try to push it further the conversation will just circle with no resolution or acknowledgment of my perspective.

Wow, this is some toxic bullshit. It's basically saying thank your employees with an attaboy but not money. Fire people quickly because fuck 'em they're replaceable. And occasionally patronize people you feel are way below your station because they'll just eat that shit up.
