What strikes me most about Schuldiner’s writing is that it’s complex but, at the same time, gorgeous. His work on TSOP, in particular, reminds me of a puzzle.

I'm trying to figure out something about this song. Was listening to the album version and in the part at 3:00 it sounds distinctly like 3 guitars playing (despite only 2 guitarists). The solo, the steady rhythm and the hard *DUH* , *DUH* interspersed. It doesn't sound to me like the rhythm guitar is stopping to do those; if it is he must be switching insanely fast because it sounds like those are over top of the rhythm, not stopping it to make them. Am I crazy?
