Thanks for your feedback; it's good to hear different perspectives. Website embedding is primarily a business feature and, therefore, a business expense for most Restream users. It also costs Restream quite a lot to cover every minute watched on our customer's website; that determines the pricing. There are a few workarounds, though. You can live stream on KZbin and then embed KZbin on your site. Yes, it will have KZbin branding and ads, but it's free and easy to set up. I could make a video about that, too.

In Restream Studio you simply choose your webcam and then pick a virtual background (pre-set or custom-uploaded. Studio will automatically put your video on top of the background.

@@anyaraz Thanks so much for the information, but ....I find that virtual backgrounds make one's hair a little fuzzy, like it "shimmers"(?) around the edges, like a ghost. :-( Seems like a green-screen is needed to correct that? Please correct me if I'm wrong. :-)

@@eddiemattison7792 that's right, virtual backgrounds (in Restream or Zoom) are not perfect on the edges. The best thing to improve the "fuzzy" effect is to get a contrasting background (i.e., white wall and you wear black) and a LOT of light on you. But the green screen will always give you a cleaner cut. It's just a matter of effort/reward. This option is perfect if you just need to hide a messy "real" background. If you need to elevate the quality and have time/budget/space to set up a green screen - you will get better quality. 💚

You can create your KZbin videos in Studio studio.restream.io/, and virtual backgrounds are free. If you are looking to create ones in OBS that's an option too just a bit more complicated ;)

When you select screen share you should see browser options such as share the whole screen or just one tab. In the bottom of that window you will see a small check box saying share audio. Make sure you check it. I am not sure if you have it on mobile though, so I recommend trying from a desktop. Let me know if you find it.

How do you go to multiple social channels with OBS? Also, there might be a way to highlight each chat comment in OBS, but I believe it's not as easy as just clicking on it in Studio. Am I wrong?

Sure, it's pretty straightforward. First, you can create an account here: try.restream.io/me. Once you register, you can select Stream with Studio. Note, you will need a Premium plan to do what I show in this particular video (Pull Zoom into your Studio) as it's a relatively advanced feature. But you can go live in Studio for free.

Can a panelist who is invited to our scheduled Zoom webinar appear in Restream?Does everything we see in Zoom appear in Restream? Can we prepare the rtmp link and password in the zoom webinar options a few days before the live event?

Yes, everything you see in Zoom will be mirrored in Studio, so all panelists and whatever they share will be visible. The webinar links for your attendees can be prepared in advance as usual. However, I recommend getting the RTMP Pull link to bring the event to Studio on the day of the event. I also recommend having a separate person to facilitate the stream, vs. asking the webinar moderator to manage both.

I want to share a silent video during a guided meditation . So the video must play with no sound (candles) while the person speaks (guides the meditation). An overlay video won’t work because the speaker audio gets lost. Is there a hack for this?

For that you would need to add it as a source (+ sign in the Studio) and play with with volume all the way down. You will be able to talk over it.

Thanks for this video and all your videos in general! I am new in the streaming world, I knew Restream from gamers with OBS, and I like the Live Studio. I think it will be my 1st option, but, there are two things I would like to see in the free plan that other similar platforms have in their free plan: record your video in the cloud and create several profiles/brands (to adapt the design depending on if you make a conference, an interview, etc.). It is the reason why I don't use Restream all the time (with or without OBS), but, if you do that, I would like to be your affiliate or your ambassador in Spain. Also, add other currencies and pay options. I am from Spain and could be good have Euros and the options of Bizum, PayPal, etc. The platform in different languages could be good in the future. In the options of Audio, where it says make a better audio until 256kbps, I use the Zoom H1n Handy Recorder, is it fine to record it with the extra quality video and the stereo activated? I would like to use my gaming headphones, that also have a microphone, but a whistle happens. So I only use the headphones without the microphone.

Hola Ana, thanks for your feedback, great points. On localization, I agree it would be good to offer payments in Euros. However, we already accept PayPal (ask our Support), and the interface is translated into Spanish (you can change it in Settings). Audio recording is a paid feature mainly because of storage. It costs to store the recordings (especially when you have 4M users). That's why it's offered on paid plans only. Several brands/profiles are something we are thinking about. Thanks for sharing. This would be helpful. I will bring it up with our product team. I again would recommend checking with our Support Team on the mic issue as they might recommend you to change some settings. Many gamers use Restream with their headsets, so it should work well if echo cancellation is on and there are no other windows that use your mic open when you live. I hope this helps. ❤️
