What happened in the 70s : the misuse of drugs act , 90s : the criminal justice and public order act, and now in 2022 : the police ,crime, sentencing and courts act. You have witnessed laws originally placed to halt the counter culture movement, insipidly encroach into the lives and rights of every man and woman here in this country. I was a young lad at the time but in 91/2 I followed the festivals failing to attend what would have been for me the last ,most important- castlemorton, I didn't attend for some reasons I forget, the rest of the group I'd travelled with the previous 2 yrs went and told me all I'd missed, by a short few year after I was out of the scene altogether, always intending to return to road life but never managed again. Here now I often sit lost in the past watching and reflecting upon my time and the times of others and overseeing this ever increasing police state that in 94 and again recently in 2022 put into place laws and measures specifically intended to overthrow the counter culture. I spoke to a ex mounted policeman ( now in his eighties) who told me his best days on the force were when he bludgeoned miners around the head from his horse. Same period in thatchers Britain…I haven’t spoken to him since.

I was 16 then, met some really interesting people, good times. People were genuinely decent, intelligent, well spoken, and not malicious whatsoever. A few leeches came and went, but my experience of interactions was mostly positive with everyone.

Every good guy I know who became a cop had to quit within a foreseeable period, or they are in love with the authority energy but really they're just badged bullies. And often not the brightest bulbs either.
