Rob a bank to help the church? That's not pragmatic. That is being dumb. End justifies the means is not pragmatic too. If everyone does that then it will be a bad output. Pragmatism involves continual adjustment and fine tuning and stopping before it becomes a bigger problem that it solves. But at the same time forces you to adapt to circumstances and evaluate short term and long term results plus context. At it's core is better off as a virtue of individual choice... fight flee ignore fix compromise. It might also be pragmatic to sacrifice one's self for others or not.... In the end pragmatism is just game theory finding equilibrium and people that exploit will be corrected eventually

Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment. It certainly would be ridiculous to rob a bank to help a church, but that is given as an extreme example to prove a general idea. The dictionary defines pragmatism as assessing the truth of theories or beliefs in terms of success of their practical application - "If it ends up working out in the end, it must be ok." Compromise is a valid means of reconciliation in some arenas of life, but never in spiritual matters. God has given us His Word so that we are not forced to wonder what will work best, we can know what is absolutely right in the eyes of the only One that really matters. Thanks again for watching!

I grew up in this church as a kid, I truly enjoyed listening to this message about our Lord Jesus and Savior!
