this animatic gave me the idea of an AU where bill is genuinely trying to better himself in the theraprism but (literal) shadows of his past and his trauma follow him. this is just an AU because i would never want the silly chaotic evil bill to go away :33

Headcanon: Bill is really clusterphobic from living in the 2nd dimension for so long. That’s why he’s having so many episodes in the theraprism, he doesn’t want to feel small and caged.

They both come from if not loving, then fufilling childhoods. They were both bullied and comforted by a family member. They both made irrevocable, life-altering mistakes completely by accident. They both became con men. Bill made a gang while Stanley got tangled up in one. They're both pushing down their feelings and mistakes of the past and pretending 'They're Fine'. They both, in their own ways, like Ford. They both, in their own ways, shattered their relationship with Ford (again). They (may) both have an addiction problem. They're both quick to anger, and argubaly both very sentimental. They both lied about who they really were (Stan to the kids and Gravity Falls, and Bill to,, well everyone). But the one thing that separates them; is Stan made a new family, and made up for his mistakes. Meanwhile Bill tried to make a family again, and didnt at all try to make up for what he'd done. Parallels, fun, yippee!

That is incredibly impressive, both the sheer amount of parallels the creators managed to cram in without making it seem obvious and forced, and your keen eye picking up on them all. Although I have to ask, what are their addictions?

@jackswan3420 That's why I said 'may', it's mostly a fandom interpretation (I think). Stan was imprisoned in Columbia and he was a homeless teen. It would be more unlikely that he didn't take substances, though that of course can't be officiated under Disney, just implied at. Also during a tale of two stans, inside Stan's car you can see empty bottles which again implies an alcohol addiction. For Bill - he's a party animal, him and his gang are basically a frat (is that right? I'm not american) - So of course every great party includes substances. He also had to take medication when he was younger, which I'm sure probably didn't do anything and it may have messed with his brain chemistry. For a possible alcoholic addiction - the fact Bill went straight to O'Sadley and got wasted instead of, I dunno letting out some frustration via space-t3rrorism, could indicate he turns to drink when going through a rough patch in his life. Maybe Ford pushed Bill into an alcohol addiction, that's kinda funny. And since Bill has an entirely different anatomy, substances and alcohol may not have any effect on him long term which would make him even more likely to take these. I dont have any GF books, and I couldn't crack a code to save my life - so there may be something else that more explicity shows Bill has an addiction problem, but I don't know what that would be lol
