Strange how locals are so down on Sheffield. It isn't blessed with southern wealth for sure, but I went to shool there in the 60's and apart from the lousy transport services now everything else seems improved. I wasn't too flash back then, I remember the grime, the bad air and the toils of the steel works. It was, however, a happy friendly place, and on my recent visits back there, that hasn't changed much. Kids are as miserable as they are in most of the western world, and grumpy old men are always grumpy old men. It looks like a place I'd visit again! Thanks for the effort.

We were visiting Salisbury yesterday and were very surprised to see this swing band playing outside this beautiful cathedral on Worship Sunday... Would've preferred to have seen and heard a Christian band, if any. The band were playing a Blues Brothers track and people were jiving in front of the cathedral... Not sure where the golden calf was but, we didn't stay to find out and neither did some of the tourists that looked equally baffled by what they were seeing and hearing at this 'religious site'... One even asked us, "is this no a place where peoples pray?" 🤔 Would you expect to see this outside of a mosque / synagogue / temple?

I'm 60 now and everything has gone out of this city. The golden years have ended replaced by cheap rubbish boring gimmicks given a few pockets sadly the REAL lights have gone out and so have the great department stores. All you see NOW is vomit and begging and I have been a Sheffielder ALL of my life.

What is your life history that you could come in contact with this varied collection? Each note has a history can you tell us the stories around some? This is proof that you do not have to have uncirculated pieces to have an interesting collection.
