My hot take is it did not fail. It may not have impressive numbers, but it debuted at a time when Japanese anime was still new to the states. You put that with adding it to USA network, dub/licensing battles between DiC and hard to please FCC tv rules, that’s a lot to over come. Sailor moon eventually would re-air on Toonami, at a later timeframe that didn’t fair well with American viewers (school/work) However despite all of this, today it is still one or the most watched and highest merchandise grossing animes in the states.

I missed out on the blue bag (which is the only one of the three I liked), so I didn't get any of them. I do have a really odd Sprayground one I found on Mercari Japan a few years ago of Donatello looking badass, and no amount of Googling has told me when it was released, or where, or anything. But I paid basically half MSRP for it, and I use it for convention hauls. It's really sturdy. Only complaint I have is the water bottle compartments are shallow AF, and are bottle compartments for ants. They also zip shut instead of velco. Also doesn't have the luggage slide, though the hidden pocket is still there. I think mine might be an earlier release. Do wish I had grabbed the blue while it was still on site, though.

I absolutely love those Sailor Moon Backpacks- they're very pretty and cute!!!! I'll definitely save up money to buy one or two in the near future when I get extra cash to do my future Japan trip with my friends very soon, it will be so magical going to Japan with a Sailor Moon backpack!!!!

I really love the Sailor Moon Figpin collection- I got so happy and excited when I heard that they were doing a Sailor Moon collection for the series. I really want to collect all of them and hopefully they do all 5 seasons of the 90s anime including the movies, SM Crystal with Eternal & Cosmos.
