Mix feelings about this one. I like both ending, but this wind blowing being alex was kinda cheesy.

I prefer this version to the other version. Gives them hope and they can live a normal life without worrying if they will be next on deaths list and dying painfully. Plus clear lives with her baby, from her partner who she loved. More better, I feel when movies have too much killing gets kind of boring.

I really like how though out the film the wind was always a symbol of coming death and in the end Clear actually smiles at it and feels Alex in it

This is actually a good ending as sure death is still after them but they don't need to fear and the movies after the first weren't the best

Алекс в Альтернативе пожертвовав собой спас всех людей которые могли погибнуть в других дистанциях, Он своей жертвой спас всех людей в первой, второй третей четвертей и пятой дистанции, потому что они все между собой связаны.

Definitely can see how this was originally written as an X-Files episode, especially with this ending.

Tbh this was better than the ending we got. Carter repeating that he’s safe over and over again made it so obvious what was going to happen. And also, this version of events is just better for Carter’s character. For Clear’s, too. I’m annoyed with the test audiences and with the studio for forcing the ending to be changed...

That's such stupid ending! Two teens get busy in woods and got pregnant at 17, and became a wise-woman? I am glad this went to trash. Him dying was a good option though, which would make the movie little bit more serious and dark, but since the rest of the movie doesnt have this dark athmosphere, would not be necessary.

I can't help but thank how different everything would be if they used this ending

I like the original more. It was fitting to the logic. I don't like sequels but that ending was more braver. If the ending was this, I'm sure it wouldn't effect me that much.

tbh even if this was the original ending the one they used pissed me off because they killed of Clear AND Alex. But they kept Kimberley and the cop. They should have killed off Kimberely AND the cop and kept Clear and Alex.

this is such a beautiful ending. i can see why they switched it, but i'd much rather have this one, honestly. it gives off a slight x-files vibe while it also shows that death is not the enemy, but a friend that will guide you to rest at the end of a journey. melancholic, sad, but beautiful.

Opinion of the ending, I think Carter should ask out Clear, be the stepdad/father figure to Alex the second, and protect Clear, cause judging by Carter's change of personality, I could see him doing that, not to mention it would be good atonement for his bullying towards Alex(the first) and it would be making good use of his second chance at life, and I like the enemies to friends or lovers trope and the bully taking his day on one person to have a change of heart and raise that person's kid for him after he dies, cause let's not forget Alex saved Carter so doing that Carter being around for Clear and Alex the second is super sweet
