Why can’t you be my auntie, sister or neighbour think how much I’d learn! Your pencils look soft are they just colouring pencils and what brand please
@peonyandparakeet10 күн бұрын
Hey, I have lots of online courses and a community on Facebook where you can learn with me! My pencils are regular colored pencils but artist quality. I have many brands together, for example Prismacolor Soft Core, Caran d'Ache Luminance, and Faber Castell Polychromos. www.peonyandparakeet.com

One of my wishes is to someday be abe to take your classes. You're one of my favorites artists and your arte is outstanding. As a florist I see it like another beautiful way to make arrangements and express beauty. I so appreciate you doing this demo, thank you!❤

OMG Päivi! The flower and the final picture turned out so beautifully. What an inspiration🥰. Thank you💖. May I ask what paper you would recommend for the flower? I guess the Fabriano Academia (200 g/m2) is too heavy?
@peonyandparakeet10 күн бұрын
Thank you! I used the Fabriano Accademia drawing paper. I don't think it's too heavy! You can also use Bristol paper, for example.

I agree with you about using colored pencils for more than duplicating a photo. My opinion on photorealism is you don't need an artist. The skill is impressive, but I want art to be more.

Love this!!! How long does it usually take you to make a piece like this in your journal? Do you do it all at once (finish one page/opening) or just when you´re inspired?
@peonyandparakeet10 күн бұрын
Thank you! It took about half an hour to make the flower and about an hour to make the rest of the spread. If I want to achieve a more finished look, it takes longer and I work on it in several sessions.

I love 5he background music, what is it?

I have purchased most of the songs from PremiumBeat.com. They are commercial songs that often don't appear in music services or such. Sometimes I include music that I improvise myself.

You are so inspiring! I love the bright colors and blending in of other colors around the objects. Please don't stop sharing your work with us. The music in the background is so hauntingly beautiful. Do you mind sharing the composer with me so I can listen to more of it? I'm in awe of you and your work! Thank you so much for not keeping it to yourself🤗🍄🌻

I don’t think it is strange at all that you have this deep desire towards florals. And your desire to represent them as naturally as possible. I too always enjoy painting florals with watercolors. Your oil painting is gorgeous so far. Wish I could watch you create your flowers. The best thing here is that you possess the ability/talent to create a natural, heavenly clouds of flowers. I have oils but never used them yet and don’t have the talent to create something beautiful so perhaps one day I’ll just try anyway.

Your art always brings joy to my heart. Thank you for sharing it with us. Have a beautiful Christmas and a wonderful New Year. ❤

I actually like your florals better than the "masters". I think that the transparency of watercolors gives the flowers a delicacy and vibrance, where oils seem more heavy handed. Your passion for painting flowers is obvious and when you love what you do, you can't help but be successful. And happy! 😊❤ ❤

These are my favourite I love old fashioned flower painting your sooo amazing!! Have you ever tried cotton rag paper? I’m wondering if it’s any good.. xx
@peonyandparakeetАй бұрын
Thanks! I haven't tried cotton rag paper. It could be interesting, but in general, I prefer very smooth watercolor paper (Hot Press) because my paintings are so detailed.

I can totally understand your love of florals and the Dutch painting technique. It is amazing and I would love to be able to paint closer to that style but still in an abstracted or impressionistic way. Thank you for sharing your process!

This is exactly what I was looking for! I’ve done pencil my whole life-some very detailed light & dark abstracts. I’ve done intuitive painting with acrylics, but I am diving into colored pencils now, and wanted to do something beyond flowers and woodland creatures. Thank you!! ❤

I'm so glad I found this. I've spent so long trying to find my "old" artist self, and this just helped me get a little closer. Thank you I can't wait to try this style tomorrow 🙏🏼
