Nice video to show us the importance of carbonaceous, I want to know where to find the picture in your video?

The chart is from the book "Chemistry of the Solar System", by Lodders and Fegley. Dr. Lodders also shows similar charts in several of her papers.

So the final composition of the average of ALL the crystals that were crystallized is the original bulk composition? The last crystals that did crystallize would have to be the same composition as the final liquid right?
@mineralogyАй бұрын
Yes, that is correct, for the case of equilibrium crystallization

Enjoyed this, thanks. Still learning here. Another area to cover is fine erosion-derived mud stacking up offshore and turning back into rock (shale) by pressure solution. Google: " Proposed Model for Shale Compaction Kinetics ".

@rosieeeee: try to use the constants that are not converted in column E, i.e., the 60 mW/m^2 instead of 0.06 W/m^2.

Geology degree here, but not a geologist, with an interest in igneous petrology. Thanks for sharing your knowledge. You may also find the igneous petrology presentations on the CITRIS channel interesting from about 11 years ago on plate tectonics, mantle, etc., lectures by scientists to scientists.

Thanks a lot. I need excel sheet of bulk continental crust composition. I saw the GERM site but unfortunately, I couldn't find that. would you please help me?

I think the standard still is Rudnick and Gao (2003) Composition of the crust. Treatise On Geochemistry ISBN (set): 0-08-043751-6 Volume 3; (ISBN: 0-08-044338-9); pp. 1-64.

i have been trying to do this with the exact equation and similar values yet my temperature values keep decreasing and becoming negative going towards the mantle depths and I don't have a clue what is going wrong, I have been working on this for damn hours ughh

So I have a meteorite. What should I do now? This thing must be a big rock buried deep in the ground for hundreds of years. It's got plenty of chondrules, chondrites, all kinds of metals and gemstone. In fact some metals, gemstones and chondrules have lidmanstatten patterns.
