With minis that have a built in base like those do, I've found that the easiest way to make them disappear if you can't confidently remove it, is to take some of the wall filler mix (I've used the pre-mixed stuff from dollar tree and water it down a bit) and then add it to the base before the actual basing. It also works great there for making it look like a more real dirt area that's a bit rougher. The minis do look good though
@dicelobsterАй бұрын
I was waiting for someone to notice this. The watered down glue didn't penetrate the tile grout as much as I thought it would and as I was setting them up for their final highlight shots all the excess fell off and made the extra plastic of the miniatures feet stand out. I decided to film it anyway to just get the video done so I wouldn't have to wait any longer for things to dry. I will use your method this week when I fix them. Thanks for watching.
@AzraelThanatosАй бұрын
@@dicelobster It's basically a wait overnight between applying it and adding more basing there. But it's $1.25 from dollar tree for the materials, and perhaps the same for a thing of the extremely cheap brushes of the kind that are used with kids watercolor stuff rather than good art brushes. I just tend to start with a little bit of water added to the pot of the mix and a wet brush to where it's easy to get into position on the base...it will normally self level to an extent , and if it doesn't a damp brush after it starts to dry smooths it out. You can add larger rocks in while it's still wet as well

How did you make those cards? How did you print them? Did you use a company?
@dicelobster2 ай бұрын
I go over in detail how I made the cards in a previous video linked at the end of this one. They were designed in Photoshop and printed on plain white 8.5x11 paper at my local office supply store then I laminated them with a desktop lamination machine.

what does the "1" mean by some stats? Great batrep, bought these rules and never cracked it open. Need to do this.
@dicelobster2 ай бұрын
If its the red one its how much Body health they have left. The bottom stat line is Movement value, Body Health, and Psyche Health and the stats on the left bar are their Melee, Ranged, and Psyche Attacks and defense. The number in the solid color box is how many dice they roll in a check and the number in the outlined boxed next to it is how many rerolls they can choose to do. So a 6 with a 1 next to it would be roll 6 dice and you can reroll one of them. Thanks for watching.

Fantastic battlereport❤ I really like SMF too, it is a great game, though poorly written in some places, eg. 'Hiding'. I would like to see you use some of the Archetype Maneuvers, they are fun! In our games we've made a few changes, the most significant one to Super Strength: instead of straight up granting 1D/2D to Melee Attack, you roll them as off colored dice, only adding them as damage if you win the main opposed roll -the idea being that strength doesn't necessarily makes you a better fighter, but if you land a hit it hurts!
@dicelobsterАй бұрын
@@madsbojensen1 That's a pretty cool idea with the Super Strength, and I agree with the Hiding and some of the other finicky rules I just avoid (like crawling, why is that even in there.) If I do another game video I will use the Maneuvers but I wanted to keep this game as simple as possible since it was my first filmed battle report and I didn't want to mess anything up. Thanks for watching.
@madsbojensen1Ай бұрын
@@dicelobster Whoops, I accidentally answered to another's comment I see (damn phone!), sorry to have hijacked the thread 😬 But yeah, the writing quality and poor copy editing is unfortunately a hallmark of the otherwise fun Goalsystem games of which I have several. 'Hiding' is one of the more egregious examples with Scott Pyle himself seemingly confused about it across the many iterations of his rulesets - in SMF you even have to conflicting versions: an opposed roll or TN2 😵. The poor explanations of Hiding leads to some very weird situations on the table and we've abandoned it in SMF -it's a relevant mechanic in sci fi games like Void Pirates, but Four Color Super Heroes wearing brightly colored spandex do not hide in the bushes!
@Jack9C2 ай бұрын
Video is great. Good editing, pacing, narrative, etc. The gameplay, not so good, as it doesn't feel like a strategic battle. After the first re-roll-storage enhance @ 2:11, the gameplay is revealed to be mostly bookkeeping and bland pawns spinning a roulette wheel (too much variance and lack of control).
@madsbojensen1Ай бұрын
@@Jack9C This really comes down to this mission only being about either protecting or taking down Cap. There are plenty of fun missions with diverse objectives and you can always make your own. The strength of this game is really the ability to create ANY hero you want and have them behave as intended -there are LOADS of Powers and they can drastically change the tactics and gameplay involved. Then there are the Archetype Maneuvers that I hope to see in the next battlereport - this game is loads of fun and can really feel like you're playing out Superhero Slugfests

One little trick I've learned (or relearned since I did it right the first time and wrong the second). Base the trees on something slightly bigger than the washers and glue those to the washers. That makes it easier to fit into the terrain after adding whatever texture. I also use magnets to hold the trees but some of the trees I 3D printed are pretty big and top heavy.
