Glad to see it warm for ya. Pretty cold here...teens. I don't know how those carvers even see what they want to cut in a piece of wood. I know a couple people that are good at it. Massive respect for those carvers. I've never mild elm. Only burned it. Lol. Another good one today.

Hi buddy and thank you for commenting. So this machine is no longer in production and no longer is sold. There are however different models on the market now that have a different mechanism to the drive of the kinetic machines. There is Blacktools kinetic machine and also log master UK kinetic machines. Both are on ebay but i cannot speak of them as i have not seen them in person or had a go of them. My macihne has developed a problwm with the drive now and needa to be sorted now. Thank your dad for watching the videos and if i can help any further then i will. Avoid the little kinetic machines that you see advertised, they are not very good.

Chuck your 6 way head away,there only any good for perfect shaped rounds . U need to dig a hole/ slop so your splitter table is higher than your ibc so then the wood can just get pushed straight into it without you having to touch it or buy yourself a log conveyor. And don’t even think about trying to make a box cutter! It’s your set up that’s wrong
@everydaywithmenick
@everydaywithmenick Күн бұрын
Thank you for commenting. Ive got a spare 6 way wedge that is the wrong size for my 2 way wedge and im going to modify that one so its better for us here. The difference in elevation is a good idea but im not going to do that. I will be getting a log conveyor in the future when one becomes available. Whats wrong with trying to make a box wedge for this machine, there would be no reason why it couldnt work and there should be enough power to suit a box wedge.

I’ve got one, order yourself another lift table hydrolic lever from mdl and fit that one on instead of your sloppy ram lever,and you can extend it also with a nut and bar or two levers ,all you got to do is cut the cover guard off ,easy and faster . I split using the single splitting head and find it cuts cleaner and is the best way to split. The next step up from an mdl log sp is “Eastern made” log splitters .

This is the way to start a Friday morning. I think a splitter like that would be perfect for boiler wood...1 push and call it a day. You'll beat 45 minutes with your kinetic. I can hardly bring myself to fire up my hydraulic splitter. Have a great weekend my friend.
@everydaywithmenick
@everydaywithmenick 3 күн бұрын
Cheers Jerry, always appreciate your comments. for boiler wood yes it would be spot on, but for our wood here in the UK, it needs to smaller for the small stoves over here. I need to figure out what to do with the kinetic splitter because it has developed a problem where it isnt returning now and its juddering more than ever, i need to create a direct drive setup like the Supersplit machines. I know i can do a cage in about 28 minutes when i have all the rounds stacked and in place. Take it easy and you have a good weekend too buddy 👍

Still trying to accept that your rounds are only 30cm long UK woodstoves must be very small most in Canada take 18" and longer there are some that like 15" for smaller areas. Seems to be working ok. Is the processor put to bed or simply trying to improve this unit? Kubota track hoe going to bury the chinkanese unit?😂😂😂
@everydaywithmenick
@everydaywithmenick 4 күн бұрын
Hey bud, thank you for commenting. These pieces are actually between 200 and 240mm long so yes they are small in comparison to the pieces you guys split. My stove takes 16" pieces but i cut them between 12 and 14" but its a bit of a larger one in the UK. No the processor isnt in bed yet, the only problem at the moment is the wood was oversize and doesnt fit in the processor. So thats why i havent had the Chinese metal out on this load of wood. The 2 machines are in different leagues and each have their place but yes, i need a yard machine and hopefully the kubota will fill that gap nicely. The chinese mini is only for little jobs. Thank you and happy new year 👍

I don't advise you to drill more holes through your frame, it's a bad idea to use that limit stop they have, it causes the pin hole on the ram and the push plate to wear out because of the twist torx it applies when it stops. Just ask me how I know this! I glued 3" pvc couplers INSIDE of a 4" pvc pipe so it's double walled, slipped it over the 3.5" ram rod and it's inline pressure stop is a lot less stressful on the pin. And No, the back pressure is not enough to crush or break the pvc as long as it's double walled and glued.
@everydaywithmenick
@everydaywithmenick 6 күн бұрын
Hey bud and thank you for your advice on this one. Im not aware of this pin hole issue you talk about, what does that mean or what does it do ? Surely the stops they have already can just been brought forward and cause no issues ? the only other way i was thinking was to add some steel plate to the beam to act as a stop for the ram. If i can get hold of any 3.5" pipe then i may do your way also. Thank you again and all the best buddy 👍

Hey buddy and thank you for commenting. I would like to make a box wedge also for this machine. I have been watching other people make box wedges and it doesn't seem the easiest thing to do but ill have to acquire the correct steel for the amount of rigours involved in splitting wood and the forces that come from it. The only bad factor to this is the 2 way wedge is welded right through the beam and tht might be an issue for the box wedge unless i make the box wedge slip over the 2 way wedge. Ill have to get something sketched up for this now. Thank you for the support and hopefully a box wedge machine... maybe. All the best buddy 👍

Hey buddy and thank you as always, yeah i think im going to put another set of holes in the beam to stop the ram from coming as far back in its retract motion. To be honest the kinetic splitter needs to come back into play but its poorly and isnt running very well at the moment. The six way wedge sits too far back on the one way wedge. It needs to start at the same place as the one way. Alot of your logs have curved cuts which are forced up when they go through the splitter.
@everydaywithmenick

Some of my logs may not have been cut straight so that may just be my problem there. The splitter is a good splitter but i think there needs to be some desgn changes for the UK market at least. What you need to get a second service is a hydraulic diverter valve plumbed into the auxiliary circuit. Basically, when you flip a switch/press a button, the solenoid on the diverter switches the flow between the 2 seperate pairs of outlets but you actuate it with the same controll, weather that be foot pedal or joystick controll
