35ft pounds is not that much for a buffer tube castle nut, all my rifles and AR pistols get torqued to 40ft pounds as recommended. Most adults Can elbow tighten 35ft pounds. My buddy brought me his rifle because he did not torque or stake his castle nut and when it became loose he would just keep hand tightening it. When we took it apart it was galled up and had almost ruined his very pricey lower. Always TORQUE AND STAKE, it is stupid easy to undo if you need to and not worth damage if you don’t. Your nut should say 25 “inch” pounds, it is aluminum. (Or at least my Recce stock from Reptilla is), lol, so yeah, do not tighten to 35 ft pounds.

Do they sell armorer wrenches where you live? They are pretty handy and have options with good price points for every budget. They are worth their weight in gold. Sorry for the different comments but I’m commenting as I watch, lol

It’s a super fast way to reload using the spoons, look it up. $146 worth of ammo plus you’d pay at least $20 apiece for the bandos, stripper clips and spoons plus shipping. Save that for a bug out bag, add 4-30 round pmags and you’ve got a respectable load out. Good trade👍

I'm in California, and pretty much in the same boat when it comes to featureless versus fixed magazine. It's featureless for me, I want to be able to quickly reload if necessary by just swapping magazines. Here in Oakland "zombie apocalypse" and "massive civil war" scenarios aren't all that hypothetical, based on the way things are going right now.

So, did you have the same problem as the majority of MFT Gen 1/2 owners? It wasn’t a wear problem on either Gen either. It is a cheap polymer issue. They would bow out and that opened the gap between the feed lips. I currently live in San Antonio. I used to live in Western MAss (Berkshire Co). When I lived there, I used Hex Mag 10 round mags (mock 30 rounders). The 2 Hex mags have thousands of rounds through them and actually outlived a couple of my Magpul 30 round mags. Just thought I’d mention it.
