I have noticed this about people. There are a lot of people who look similar but are not related..glitch in the matrix

It is not only the genes that matters here, it how the genes have manifested. In plain English, which gene is dominant in what condition and under what duress. Some genes get triggered and others are dormant.

I hear ALL THE TIME that I look like someone else or someone knows someone that looks "JUST LIKE YOU." I haven't ever seen them BUT even my midwife that has birthed 4 of my children at home and knows me intimately... Swears that she saw me on a family vacation in Leavenworth, though I was home near seattle. I find this freaky and fascinating. I have been told I look like multiple famous people but I don't really see the resemblance... These women however do look identical! 😮😅

10,000 hours of genealogy work - England, Scotland, Northern Germany and no spit test. Blue eyes are a northern Europe trait, northern Russia too. Long ago, the French were called Franks and typically, they had black hair and blue eyes, odd today. Long narrow skull - northern European, but generally not Russia, except those sentenced to forced labor during the communist purges. I do not believe the spit test you took - what they say you national origin is.

It would be interesting for these two girls to have their faces laser scanned and measured to see how dimensionally similar they are or whether it is the eyes/brains of we viewers fooling us in to seeing similarities. Crazy.

I grew up looking like no-one around me. Then I did my paternal genealogy and found "twins" all over the world. My paternal grandfather's line has very strong genes and we all look so much alike, it's almost scary. We also have a lot of personality traits in common, traits that are not as common in the general population. We're talkative, creative, offbeat, "bohemian," artistic, intellectual... and we all have this big, curly, auburn hair.

Back in 1999, I was having people walk up to me at a business that I ran, talking to me like they knew me......0_o Then they'd LOOK at me, and say something like "I thought you were somebody else' or 'You have a double' or similar. Turns out this guy worked at another business about a mile down the road. OK, so I went down there and walked in and it was like looking in the mirror....this guy really DID look a LOT like me. He was as shocked as I was!! We talked for a bit and we SOUNDED very similar.... We talked about our background and we pretty much couldnt have been related as he was from the west coast and my family was from the east coast and Midwest. but the resemblance was uncanny. We could easily have passed ourselves off as the other and used each others ID. It was easy to see how somebody could have mistaken us. Very weird...

My brother brought a friend home with him on leave from the Navy. My mother was chatting away with who she thought was my brother (read that as my mother doing all the talking 🙄). Nope it was the friend 🤷‍♀️

I saw my dobbleganger at a concert when i was in high school, but from a little distance. It was so freaky, then one day a group of people stopped infront of me and they were talking to me as though they knew me but i never met these people in my life. When i tried to tell him they didn't believe me at first. Amother time i waa on the city but and a women started talking to me but i told her that im sorry who are you? Years go by and I still never actually mean this looka like person. Then my friends mom was in the hospital and swore she just talked to me a few minutes ago and I tried to tell her it wasn't me.. Oops. Complete misunderstanding of what a gaplogroup is. The only thing this confirmed is that their great great ....... great great great grandmother's way back thousands of years ago were not related. Haplogroups have nothing to do with the other thousands of potential shared ancestors.

Was a kid in high school, that everyone assumed we were brothers. Neither of us understood it, other then being tall / redheads we looked nothing alike. Also the one girl looks like she's got a lot of foundation on, to more closely match the others complexion.

It is incredible how much they look alike. Crazy! Not being 'genetically' matched at all and looking that much alike has to be even more of a miracle.

While in the military, I saw my doppelgänger in Guam. I took a photo of him walking with his girlfriend on the beach. Of course my wife thought it was me and my friend took the picture.

It's believed that everyone likely has upwards to 6 or 7 people who look the same or extremely similar, and there's a decent chance none of them are your close relatives. Everyone's got at least a few dopplegangers running around out there. DNA's weird, man.
