I want to thank Professor Hilton and the rest of the team involved in creating and implementing Duke's C Programming courses for Coursera. I have a CS background from another university and the clarity of instruction from Duke on Coursera was exceptional. Thank you again.

Its reducing gold atoms by Hcl to ions ....then reducing to nano particles of gold with adding citric acid to obtain ruby collodial gold. I do this quite often .

I don’t know if you’re the right people to ask but is duke ever going to add more engineering majors such as aerospace or aeronautics?
@dukeengineering9 ай бұрын
Hello! Great question. Yes, you can study Aerospace Engineering at Duke! Mechanical Engineering majors can strive for our Undergraduate Certificate in Aerospace Engineering -- the curriculum is attuned to modern industry needs, and includes training in fundamental principles of Aerodynamics, Thermodynamics, Propulsion, and more. In addition to course work, Duke Aerospace Engineering students are eligible to conduct authentic research under the supervision of a faculty researcher. Here's a link: mems.duke.edu/undergrad/degrees/certificates/aerospace-engineering Also, don't forget our customizable interdisciplinary major, called IDEAS -- you'll work with your Advising Team to design your own major. You can also pick a pre-approved curriculum -- Learn more about our pre-approved new IDEAS major in Risk, Data & Financial Engineering, all our other majors (and minors, too!) at: pratt.duke.edu/academics/undergrad/majors-minors/

Weird they don't even mention the book he wrote about it "Design in Nature". The book absolutely rocked my world and connected a bunch of different subjects together for me and changed how I look at the world and 'design' in general. I like to use it in permaculture design and thinking of ways to maximize photosynthesis. The Constructal Law is a scientific principle in physics that states that the flow of a system will naturally evolve towards configurations that allow easier and more efficient flow. This principle applies to a wide range of systems, including physical, biological, and social systems, and explains the emergence of patterns and structures that promote flow, such as the design of rivers, animal bodies, and transportation networks. The Constructal Law provides a framework for understanding the design and evolution of natural and man-made systems. Some examples of the constructal law in action include: River delta formations, where the flow of a river organizes itself into a branching pattern that maximizes access to the available area and minimizes resistance to flow. Animal and plant respiratory systems, which evolve to increase the surface area available for exchange of gases, while reducing the resistance to flow. Transportation systems, such as roads, railways, and airways, which organize themselves to minimize transport time and maximize accessibility to resources. Heat transfer systems, such as cooling systems in power plants, which evolve to minimize heat transfer resistance and maximize heat dissipation.

Rather than destroy it into elemental state, could we not sanitize it / make it biosafe, and preserve some fertilizer value? And how, in the long term, will this become a sustainable business model ? People living in these conditions have no wealth to expend on such sophisticated processing. You need to bring some economic thought into your team so when the govt money and grant funds run out, a viable self sustaining technological solution is established.
