The Japanese soldier of the early war years certainly was spartan in the equipment he carried. Very utilitarian, much like the British Commonwealth soldier.. Tough soldiers.

日本の帝国時代には「青い目をしたサムライ」と呼ばれた日系アメリカ人がいたらしくて太平洋戦争に日本側で参加したらしい。この動画の人みたいな感じだったのかな？ 当時の日本では白人は珍しかった上に戦争してる国がだいたい白人の国だから差別に苦しんでたという話も聞いたことがある。
