Interesting, I know Mikkel of Mikkeller. Plus, I’ve been to his beer festival 6 times. The great thing, there’s no regional competition of who has the best beers. Mikkel ferments many of his sour beers in Belgium because of the special yeast. I’ve thought of asking him if he’s thought about any of the beer festivals in Portugal. If Copenhagen was warmer, I’d definitely want to live there it’s my favorite, most visited city. 😁 Oh, Copenhagen has a huge selection of ports. To the point, I was given free bottles of port. Love it!

Hehe! The super cute Icelandic cute girls love a vintage fur. Saw it a lot on my last trip. I can imagine them having a bikini underneath to go to and from the thermal pools. People have trouble at airports when they don’t check the rules for each country they go to. Especially, US. Too many assumptions, and not enough research. Measure your luggage, and you won’t have a problem.

The assisted living facility is great for those who don’t want to go back to their home country, once they’re very elderly. I wonder if they’ll have memory care as well. That’s a whole other level of care. When my mom became less able, it was my job to find a comfortable residence for her. In my area, there are many options, if you’re “comfortable” middle class and above. There’s ok options if you qualify for a level of assistance. Lower middle, in California, seems very challenging. Portugal doesn’t have what I would expect, at this time. It’s not just great the options are growing, but it’s necessary. I’m surprised by how many people in a couple of my groups, not connected to you or Expats Portugal, have no idea of what they’ll do when they can’t care for themselves. And, they’ve already moved to Portugal! 😱

Sorry, I’ve been triggered! 😉 I appreciate that you cover what might be considered the esoteric topics/feeling/occurrences. I’m all into fake it ‘till you make it, and decreasing negative information, for self preservation, but when actual people are talking about how they feel about anything…political, violent or whatever, I want to listen, and engage with people. Since Rona times, I miss honest, potentially messy exchanges with people. This is definitely me being my father’s daughter. I’m most satisfied communicating with people, and I don’t need to agree with people. I don’t recognize division. Having a different opinion, doesn’t have to be a division. As I’ve mentioned before, my interest in moving to Portugal (or France), is not an escape. It’s an expansion of my longstanding desire to be a global citizen. While things have been awkward at the moment, I’ve never felt hopeless. Our existence is a wavy, back and forth, multidimensional path. As an American, I haven’t felt the most negative messaging. I probably have the benefit of not being represented fully, by any of the current parties. However, Kamala is actually an ok, conservative version of what can represent me, satisfactorily. 😁 Her VP, actually more represents my interests. I wasn’t expecting to be so happy about my voting options. I’m a Dem, but have very strong Green, socialist leanings. I’m basically Danish! More broadly, white people American and European, are feeling a shift where they will no longer be on top of the “food chain”. They’ve done very well with the dividing, conquering, and capitalizing on the existing divisions throughout the world. There’s a demonstration of the last, desperate gasps of control, by violent measures. Everything “alternative “, presents danger. It’s a sad phase we seem destined to go through. I do feel our world can be better. I hope it will be. Or, I may just be delusional. Whatever! I’ll just try to be supportive of positive intentions! 😊
