Following Jesus isn’t a religion but a relationship and some people follow a religion but when you really give your life to God you start a relationship. Jesus loves each and everyone of us and his love is the complete expression of God’s love. But we are sinners and are bad people. We are corrupted and sinful and God is holy and just. In order for us to start a relationship Jesus had to die for us and he did, he bore all of our sin on him and took the punishment. He died for you and rose up again 3 days later so that we could be reconciled with the father. If we accept what Jesus did so long ago and repent for our sins we shall have eternal life which is to know God the father the one true God and Jesus the Christ (his son and God) who God the father has sent, we will have that relationship with them who are one. (John 3:16 and John 17:1-5) Once we accept and repent we start a relationship and God forgives our sins. (Acts 2:38) We must be baptized with water in the name of Jesus so that we can enter into the kingdom of God for the remission of our sins; wash them away and cleanse us to be bathed in his blood and baptized in his death, then ask Jesus for the gift of the holy spirit which is the baptism of the holy spirit so that we may worship God in spirit and truth and the holy spirit fills us. You have to make him master over your life. Let the holy spirit lead you, let Jesus lead you and grow your relationship by abiding him and obeying because those who love Jesus follow his commandments. You must put yourself last and others second and God first. Follow Christ, learn from him become like him in his ways of thinking,seeing, loving. See how he sees. You can’t live life doing what you want and acting like your old ways and then saying you believe and love him but you must deny yourself and pick up your cross daily. Surrender to the good Lord, don’t hold on to control but let him handle things. It’s gonna be tough and the devil is gonna try to bring you back to him but do not go. Don’t put things before God. Overcome worldly things and be separate from the world become a child of God. Become a follower and not a fan of Jesus. It’s the best love story and the Lord is waiting for you.
