My favorite are the tour custom. They have a really nice thick sound that is very different from all their other series.

Live the hip kit. I have a white one. How do you approach the BD as far as head choice and tuning?

It totally depends on the style I'm going to play, but I'm a big fan of coated beater heads. I prefer the beater head tight and the front head loose. Try the Aquarian Heads; I promise you won't be disappointed!!

the oak hybrid is so similar to the starclassic range of tama's. It actually almost reminds me of their discontinued bubinga starclassic kits. pretty sick diversity here.

But today's Starclassics has a thin shells and don't sound similar to Oak Hybrid that has a thick shells. Yamaha is louder and more aggressive.

He is playing the kit with 10x7, 12x8, 16x15 and 22x16 kick. Tours come in very limited sizes but can cover all the bases. They are actually my favorite sounding of the kits he played. Other sizes available are 14x13 floor tom or 20x15 kick.
