It totally depends on the style I'm going to play, but I'm a big fan of coated beater heads. I prefer the beater head tight and the front head loose. Try the Aquarian Heads; I promise you won't be disappointed!!

the oak hybrid is so similar to the starclassic range of tama's. It actually almost reminds me of their discontinued bubinga starclassic kits. pretty sick diversity here.

But today's Starclassics has a thin shells and don't sound similar to Oak Hybrid that has a thick shells. Yamaha is louder and more aggressive.
