Absolutely nothing about these are Alocasia. So you don't actually know anything about these plants. The deformation of the leaves has nothing to do with water. It's a virus. Not a contagious virus like mosaic virus though.

Wow, i found this video 3 years after! It is so detailed and informative. Your hair looks great! I got three of these plants because I just love the colors, texture and type of vine. It gives some change in the house so everything does not looks green! I noticed some holes in some of the leaves, I am guessing some kind of caterpillar. Not sure how to treat it. thanks again!

Hi, this weekend I found a big one in my nursery but is the variety with the green and purple lines. So beautiful. Thanks for all the information. It is not very easy to find this variety in Florida. Planning on propagation to sell some of them.

Meanwhile this for some reason has by and far been the most difficult plant I've ever worked with. I just cannot figure out what I'm doing wrong and almost all of its fonds have entirely disappeared. I've had it it for almost two months and it's nearly leafless, and what leaves are there are all blacking at tips and ultimately withering before any of the fronds ever get to fully grow. New fronds still forming but nevertheless keep meeting this fate! Gets lots of bright indirect light from all directions (and it's June as of writing this), watered only when dry, I keep it near a sink for humidity, I've given it some plant food, temps are kept at high 60s to mid 70s F... I don't get what I'm doing wrong.

Very interesting. We have a very large Rabbits foot fern. Suggestion, turn off the background music. With music playing over your voice it is difficult understanding you. Many folks have hearing difficulties, thus the music quickly becomes intrusive and annoying.

If you want it to grow more branches you just nip the new leaves. When the time comes that it bears flowers then you'll then have seeds to propagate. They love rain water a lot..The leaves turn green due to lack of sunshine...the Christia Obcordata, the Green leaf variety is very beautiful, too!

I dont believe all variegation is caused by a virus or it would be easy to replicate and spread that to any plant you want. Some viruses may cause viral variegation (which probably isnt a good thing) but many plants have variegation due to genetic flaws I believe.

Thank you so much for this information. I am glad to find out that I have one. All your descriptions match my Dragon Tail perfectly. Also mine is trying to commit suicide by turning the leaves yellow that you addressed and I agree, too much water. BUT I've only watered it once since buying it about 2 weeks ago. I did buy dowels from Lowe's and made a trellis. My Rappy will not be going outside. I'm going to cut off those yellow leaves and check the water with a probe. Thanks.

I rescued this gigantic plant, must have had a kilo or two of rhizomes i had to cut off but only a few left alive, and it had a bit of growth but its just stopped growing and i see no new leaves or green growth. I keep it regularly moist, in light but not direct, with a giant well draining pot and its about 23 degrees here indoors rn... but its not doing so well :( idk what to do!
