Yesterday DOT gave me warning for code 395.8e which was a lie from the officer, my hours done and I used PC to find parking, I explained to him it was night and was hard to find parking and I hd to drive another 35 miles to end up parking at the ramp of a rest area which was the closest to me. I asked him to give me citation and he refused. It’s my first warning since 5 years. Any advice?

It is my Tuesday but on my Monday I did not do a split sleeper berth starting Wednesday can I just sleep 8hrs then start driving and do the other 2hrs later? I would think that if possible I would be driving in violation untill I do the other 2 hr break. Or just follow hours available as E.L.D will say how many hours available

Does being at fault or not at fault factor in the score as well? Will a not a fault accident be less penalizing than a at fault or it’s all the same?

Not sure if this is true, raising the truck count will lower OOS violations? I’m seeing a lot of people doing that. Keep up the great work, learning a lot from you guys

@@Trucksafe what’s a common way to fix it, if disputes on DATA QS don’t work? I don’t even have a DOT but I’m wondering how it works, the guy I drive for charges drivers to fix violations, but nothing actually gets fixed, when I spoke to his safety manager he sounded clueless and Careless and he had the attitude of it is what it is, I got a violation for brakes out of adjustment and the officer wrote me a ticket that I’m planning on fighting, but then not checking the brakes when I did an oil change in their shop a week prior is on them 🤷♂️, do u agree? And the safety manager said, ohhhh well there’s nothing I can do to remove it, I was placed OOS till a mobile tech fixed it within 10 minutes

I LIVE IN CRAPPY OKLAHOMA. I HAVE HEARD STARTING THE 1ST OF NEXT YEAR, 2025...THEY ARE GOING TO DROP SOME OF THE RIDICULOUS 90-ITEM PART OF THE PRE-TRIP. WE ARE TRYING TO BECOME DRIVER'S, NOT FRIGGIN DIESEL MECHANICS, OK??!! THIS NAMING EVERY ITEM ON THE TRUCK WAS NOT DONE MANY YEARS AGO. PEOPLE WHO DRIVE FOR BIG COMPANIES DO NOT EVER DO MAINTENANCE ON ANY SEMI'S!! THEY WANT DRIVERS, BUT THEY MAKING IT AWFULLY DARN HARD TO OBTAIN A CDL!! 😢😢

So confusing. Even The company I worked for did not understand the way the split sleeper worked. They insisted that just taking 7/8 hours in the sleeper would give you 11/14 back once you paused your book with 2/3. You can’t cheat the consecutive 10 hour break. All you can do is buy yourself more time to it.

My driver was put out of service for having an intrastate restriction but he never had a restriction. DataQ did not remove it after we challenged because officer sees restriction on his end

In addition to being able to travel to and from home/terminal while loaded, there's no limit to how far, as long as the driver is not ill or fatigued.

You can use pc on 34 hour reset. Just make sure you log on pc before you drive, both to and from wherever you go.

What if the split sleeper break is actually forced by the elog? My employer uses Peoplenet. If the truck doesn't move fast enough for it to switch to driving for 2 or more hours, it automatically puts in a split sleeper. Driver doesn't get a choice. I was recently detained for over 6 hours at a shipper. But during that time I had to be ready to move the truck, which I had to do 4 times.
