The Ch. 9 Cyril thing I think is a bit unfortunate in this playthrough because Mekkah and Raisins’ units have just gone super nuts. The idea is to grab him Vengeance and PBV then master a couple of classes and you have a low investment unit who can kill stuff reliably. In this run though Felix, Byleth, and Balthus have grown like crazy so you don’t really need a crutch like that. Tbh you never really do because 3H units are insane, but if you have an unlucky run where all your units are getting stat screwed (my 100% COS LTC has a ton of really Str and Spd screwed units for some reason 😬) then Cyril is nice because he is just always an option.

I'm the maniac who likes to do dancer Felix or Ferdie for funny dodgetank combat dancer. And Bernadetta doesn't just like reading, she writes! I think it's mentioned in her supports with Sylvain, it's a really fun and cute support line for both of them. And I don't know where this comes up, but I'm pretty sure Bernadetta has an interest in embroidery, which could explain why "school uniforms" is a topic she likes. Girl has hobbies, she needs *something* to do while she's hiding alone in her room.

On the wolves as dancers, Hapi makes an ok dancer in that she gets an easy road to special dance if you spam impregnable wall and put her in range of all the monsters in ch. 9. Death is also nice for linked attacks (too bad she has only 6 supports). Riding boon is also useful for mov+1. Not that great a niche, but a niche none the less.

I know this is unrelated to the vid, but is having a level 9 (?) Byleth the only way to get chapter 4 Catherine? I ask, since her B support is only unlockable later and B is what lets you get her at lvl 6, a more expected level to be at by that point. I guess maybe the chapter 4 Catherine is only possible if you allow auxiliaries to power level Byleth to lvl 9 or something.

If you mash the reason button, Hilda also gets Bolting at A for linked attacks! Easily not worth eating the resources to get there.

Pretty sure bolt axe is b. Training e to c is not much longer than c to b. Levin sword is also 9 weight where bolt axe is 15.

I did try dancer constance once and it was nice cause she has a siege tome for linked attacks. She's definitely a better combat unit though it was mostly just cause I was investing in other units that playthrough.

Three Houses, the dancer chapter.

On my second playthrough of the game, I got absolutely screwed by the 13 Charm mislead. Poor Raphael didn't get to live out his dancer dreams.

I was motivated to grind out my own maddening run thanks to this lp. It broke my FE3H burnout. Yay! Anyways. Going to make Yuri my dancer because he just fits the magic, battalion and sword focus of the class and I actually forgotten to include a dancer in my planning. But since all master classes are bad on him I thought let's go for dancer

Almost two hours of monastery full spreadsheet nerding sign me the fuck up. I would hate to do it myself but I love you two talking through everything. Also HILDA HILDA HILDA

100% reliable way to clear this map is to put Shamir in Peg, Rally her Luck, give her Retribution or Chalice, put her next to Manuela, give her an Iron Lance + and Lance Prowess 3. Easily clear the map turn 2. I have no expectation that they will do that.

The funnest change you could do is remove NO from the side quest options. Extra weapon uses, and if you have to play to not get the side quest prompt changing how maps are played. The most troll is to make Merlinus into a lord or normal unit.

The fe9 draft race feels fairly unique compared to gba, looking forward for more non-gba draft races (shoutout to radiant dawn draft race which is longer than fe7 and fe8 combined)

I'm glad you didn't notice you had Impregnable Wall. Retribution is enough of a get-out-of-jail-free card as it is. It was interesting to see how differently you played this than I do to achieve the same results. My opener is always a Pegasus (Ingrid/Petra/Leonie) taking out the mage in front turn 1 and then I play defense for a bit. Cav Dimitri is usually the one that takes out the Advanced Seal thief with a stride. There aren't a lot of defend maps in this game unlike other Fire Emblems, so I like it for the challenge.

I expected an easy clear of this map because of how much Mekkah was saying it’s easy, but I flopped so hard 😭 had to bait the death knight around the map… I think not triggering the enemies in front of Solon might be key, because if I just reset when that happened I probably would’ve been better off lol

This is my favorite map because the difficulty lies in the different side objectives that all feel nice to have without being necessary for anything important. It's always a fun challenge that doesn't feel frustrating

Of all maps to get dangerously close to running out of Divine Pulse, this one was not on the bingo.

In my first playthrough I missed Volke too lol. Can't remember the exact details, but ik that I didn't deploy Bastian and the message that you needed Elincia to recruit him either wasn't well communicated or I missed it. I seem to remember thinking he was like out of bounds or smth or that he'd join on another turn? Not sure anymore but I sure didn't realise I'd missed him until like endgame 😂
