I’m not sure where this clip was recorded, but watching it in the UK, it saddens me to see someone like Robert Plant trying to talk about his best friend John Bonham, against a back drop of whistles, whoops etc. hasn’t anyone got the decency to listen quietly, with respect? Why do people think that it’s absolutely fine to make so much noise??! It happens at music gigs too, why can’t they save their shouts and cheers until the appropriate time???🤷♀️ So the people around them can actually hear what’s going on??

I have that copy of Modern Drummer!! John would have been over the moon if he knew he was voted the number 2 drummer of all time second to the great Buddy Rich!! Wow, that is really something!

Had to begin it with Bonham shaking his head at Jonesy for the allegedly bunk note! That was a big deal when Song Remains came out. Lovely film, thank you.

To put my text in contrast, here in America everyone says they know what and where they doing when President Kennedy was shot. Well, l will never forget what l was doing when l heard over the radio(wireless) for the people of the U.K. that he had passed on. 1980 was a bad year for Rock&Roll. First, Bon Scott then John Henry "Bonzo" Bonham and finally John Lennon was murdered. It truly sucked! This is a very cool video, thanks from Texas. I've never seen the film footage of Captain Bonzo with his hat. That is a bonus!!!

One of the most devastating premature deaths in music history. And the heartbreaking part is that his death was accidental.

As a fifteen year old kid in 1980 I remember well the death announcement of not only John Bonham but also earlier in the year for Bon Scott and later that year in December when John Lennon was shot to death. An absolutely heart wrenching year in music. ⚡️Legends never die⚡️

Thank you. I almost clicked away after a few minutes... but I stayed for the duration and SO GLAD I DID! ... John was an amazing "power-house" as the drummer in my band once said. (who had been influenced by John) Even though I am a guitarist, since then I have always listened to Led Zepplin in a different way... my ears always draw me to the drum track on every Zepplin song to admire the talent and unique style he brought to the band and the world of rock. Great video. Again...Thank you for this very interesting video. I thoroughly enjoyed it!

John Henry Bonham only needed a single kick pedal. The last time I saw zep,my seat was to right of the stage, about midway up in the balcony. After the set started ,I brought my binoculars to my face and lo and behold, I had a perfect view of Bonzos kick pedal.I watched that foot all night. All I could say for those 3 + hours of bonzo power was ,Look at that.Look at that.Never saw one foot do so much ,sometimes sounding like 2.

I grew up with Led Zeppelin, Yes, ELP, Beatles, Cream and more. I always thought Zeppelin were great musicians, but not the Gods many make them out to be. I still think their first album is their best because of Good Times Bad Times, Dazed and Confused and How Many More Times. If it weren't for these I wouldn't think as highly of them as I do. Also, Bonham should still be with us. He wasted his life. It's very sad.
