Tepoztlan loves their pachangas! It’s the only town I know of that repeats the Día de Muertos celebrations a week later. Again the kids dress up and take their carved “chilacayotes” (those “green pumpkins”) door to door “pidiendo calaverita” (like trick or treating). Homes open their doors with candy and treats, neighbours make bonfires on the street and gather round them, in the town centre there may be street performers. In essence the same as on the night of Nov 1, just repeating it again a week later.
@hyggetraveler28 күн бұрын
@mwiebe2663 Thanks for watching, and I appreciate the explanation of the culture in Tepoztlan. It all makes sense now, and I recommend the experience to all my viewers. So, there it is, viewers, experience Dia de Muertos in Mexico City (see vlogs), then the next week, extend it in Tepoztlan along with a jungle hike to an accent pyramid. An extraordinary town to visit and meander.

Notes from a resident, this town sucks to live in, but is great to visit, just don’t come on warm days or holidays, because then traffic is at a standstill all day and no one has fun. Also fun notes, that TLC, last year during the winter storm I nearly got hit by people who didn’t know how to drive on Ice, right there. Galucci’s is the best pizza in town, but it’s not good pizza. Glad you chose a nice day to film this on, 10 months out of the year it’s gray and raining, lol. Anyway, thanks for stopping by LC, it’s cool seeing my town in a video.
