At least this Hailey was able to get little clean slate kinda if you think about it. MC used the evidence to get Tony arrested to give Hailey a chance to be free from Tony's blackmail. It was Hailey started to be with her ex in the first place but however MC help her because of her parents' well attitude. Hope she learn her lesson and start better life.

Honestly i never understood that, it's a trope in any anime too, i understand the concept, but how the fuckin' fuck useless can you be to cut yourself so much while learning to cook? She still alive, not a mirage. She made a bet with herself that if Rocky returns to the Ling City about her death from Tony, it means he regretted leaving her and still have feeling for her. She was right, Rocky couldn't move on and still in love with her. Both of them remains single for all those years alone (Rocky declined being introduce to new women).

She's alive. She tricked him to return to see if he's still in love with her or not. As for the boat scene, maybe she felt guilty for dragging down Rocky to marry her in the first place just to spite Tony and wanted to make a clean break with Rocky although she finally realized that she's in love with Rocky now. As for the airport scene, I think Hailey knew that no matter how much she begs him to stay, Rocky is already made up his mind to leave. But after being separated for years and seeing that Rocky is still not moving on with life and rejecting the opportunity to meet new women, she suspected that Rocky is still in love with her and saw that as an opportunity to get back together. So, she asked Tony to help her by telling Rocky about her supposed death and betting that if Rocky comes back, it will only confirm her suspicion.

Basically both are simping for each other's with Rockey being the bigger simp but Haily was in control they entire time playing the innocent foolish girl to make rockey even more in love by using tricks to see whst rockey will do or will he believe the things happening blah blah by the end she got cought playing games. It's just a love story with alot of unnecessary confusing tricks from Hailey to solidify her relationship with Rockey.
