That was a great video. I am looking for a starter for this exact same mower 40702X92C. DOM 0254. The online schematics do not list a starter in the parts lists. Do you have any ideas of how I could find one?
@franksenginesandstuff15926 ай бұрын
Assuming your tractor has a plastic gear on the starter, and a aluminum gear on the flywheel, this will work: www.amazon.com/Briggs-Stratton-7hp-18hp-41022003-41022003R/dp/B00TOFFCPK/

Probably the seat switch sensor or wiring is broken.

That thing is mtd #7530685 circuit breaker. I think it is a thermal fuse that will automatically reset after cooling down.

the coupler on most grease guns can be screwed apart a little to make them easier to remove from zerk . if loosened too much though , you'll have to reassemble the coupler .

How’d you ensure the right pipe that would thread in? I can’t weld and want to do something that’ll thread in I’m just unsure what to purchase.
@franksenginesandstuff15922 жыл бұрын
Firstly, newer engines don't usually have threads in the exhaust ports. When the flatheads died so did the practice of threading exhaust ports. Remove your muffler or header or whatever and measure the distance across your exhaust port. If it's about 3/4" across you need 3/4" pipe, if it measures about 1" you need 1" pipe, you get the idea. I get my pipe from Lowes. Get black iron pipe and fittings (gas pipe). Don't get galvanized pipe because I've heard that lets off toxic fumes when heated.
@joshmanis98602 жыл бұрын
What pipes did you use to make the header?
@franksenginesandstuff15922 жыл бұрын
They are 3/4 inch black iron gas pipe from Lowes.

Hey I just bought one of these, would you mind figuring out what size the front and rear belts are, mine came without them?
@franksenginesandstuff15922 жыл бұрын
Evidently, the only belts availible are the genuine ones. I was able to get the set for a way lower price (though still expensive) on Ebay. Here are the part numbers that were on the belts themselves: Engine to vairible speed pulley, 754-0358, vairable speed pulley to transaxle, 754-0432. The engine to variable pulley belt has the same number listed in the manual, but the vairable pulley to transaxle belt has a diffrent number in the manual. Both belts came in a kit, part number was 753-0528. I got the belt kit on ebay, and I think they also sell them on Partstree, for a higher price. The belts are about 3/4" thick. I pulled that info from the posts I have made here: www.gardentractortalk.com/threads/hechinger-mtd-149-818-3727-18hp-tractor.90577/#post-1013452 The belt kit came with a note saying the 1991 and later models use a different belt kit. (Now I can't find the note).
