how much walking would you say there is from class to class or dorm to class or to dining halls?

It really depends on where you dorm but it’s not a long walk (~10-15 minutes from Kelly to SAC). There are also buses on campus that makes the commute way faster too.

Literally the most boring school on the planet, in the middle of nowhere. It just has stellar education programs. But everyone I talked to that said they go there said they hated it.

I kinda like the peacefulness of it, and it isn't really the middle of nowhere lol. You're still 1.5-2 hours from Manhattan by train. Also there's tons of free events going on, you just have to look on the app they have for it. Really, for what you pay, it's a pretty good value compared to many other schools.

I believe they make all freshman’s buy the unlimited which is $2,995 per semester

Everything I had in the video were from the dining hall. Since you have the unlimited meal plan, it means you have unlimited meal swipes you can use at the dining halls.

I applied to transfer to several schools (also a Biology, pre-med student) from Colorado. I know very little about east coast schools, and am also considering NYU, Rutgers, Lehigh, and UMass Amherst. I haven't heard back from NYU, Rutgers, or Lehigh yet, but was accepted to Stony Brook for transfer. Do you have any recommendations? Is Stony Brook well regarded? Would you choose SBU over any of the others I have mentioned? Please if you or anybody else has any recommendations, I would greatly appreciate it!

May I ask how did you get started on your transfer process, and what are your stats and ECs like? I've been accepted to UMass before during my application process in high school, but I'm uncertain about my chances with Stony Brook

I would say I have a love hate relationship with it. The academics can be challenging depending on your major but at the same time I really enjoy the activities they have on campus and the amazing people I met here.

Not sure bc I haven’t been making reservations to go to the gym. You’re able to just go straight in as long as you have the RecOnTheGo app. Is that what you’re talking about?

I graduated from Stony in Dec 2018 (way before Covid started) I may return to Stony one day to do a grad program. thanks though it was nice to see Stony from another student's perspective. I wish you luck in your upcoming semesters at Stony.

Great job. Just showed this to my middle school students, I graduated from SBU in 2007. My students loved watching it and now they all want to go to Stony Brook. They were really impressed by the food, lol.
