Listening to this on Spatial Audio makes the music go so hard ❤❤❤ turning my head slightly makes me hear all sorts of new instruments and overtones that I never noticed before.

The fact that this was remade for 13th Street in "Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin" - aka "Akumajo Dracula: Gallery of Labyrinth" - really emphasizes that it's a sequel to this game, and showing that Jonathan Morris is carrying out the will of his father, John Morris. Hearing this remade in the legendary DS game felt like a complete throwback.

Zio would've made a better Dark Force Alter Ego than a puppet. Be crazy to see Zio turn into the Profound Darkness instead of that Seth guy turning into Dark Force.

I feel like Simon would be the most feared in Dracula's eyes. He didn't have the aid of friends like Trevor. He didn't have Richter's magical abilities. He wasn't a near demi god like Julius. He went it solo with the Vampire Killer, sub weapons and physical toughness to take down Dracula.

While the original SNES version is iconic, I really enjoy the different approach this version has. SCIV starts triumphantly and keeps that percussion throughout the theme, while Bloodlines begins eith a much slower and darker melody before building up to a similar energy as SCIV. It's as if despite how tired John and Eric probably are getting to Dracula, it's as if Simon's spirit is goading them to push on to defeat the evil that has resurrected once again to swallow the world and mankind into darkness.
