I have the exact same leak in the same spot I'm about to fix. That bolt is for holding the splash shield I believe it goes on the middle of that metal plate you had to get off. It goes in the middle where you normally jack the car up on the xmember

Definitely using this video to install a woofer in my base model maverick work truck...I was going to tap in at the door speakers and run threw the door jam grommet but your way looks way easier..
