One thing I've learnt from watching motorsports since 1988 : no matter what car you entered into the race, no matter what type of preparation you did, in the race, anything can go wrong. The badge on your car doesn't make any difference whatsoever.

Am I right in saying the Audis were 2.2, 5-cylinder 4wd? And the Ford 2L RWD

you dont by any chance have footage of Veron Pappas who used to race in the WesBank v8's. He is my dad. Unfortunately all of the saved footage got stolen. Been searching for footage of him for ages, but can't find anything...Cheers

Years back I took my car for body repairs in Strabd area Helderberg. While waiting for the quotation, I stood outside. While outside I heard some car rev up and been a car enthusiast myself I wanted to know what it was. There was a workshop next door to where I was ans I just peeped in the door which was open. Who did I see inside? Serge Damseaux. I was so over the edge that I saw this man face to face and sad to say he actually was not very friendly. He actually asked me who gave me the bloody right to look inside the shop and that I need to get away. My heart fell to the ground and I could not believe that this guy just said that to me. A well know rally driver at that time. Disappointed and hurt I walked away and since that day I have lost respect towards him. Please don't shoot me down but this was my experience when I actually met rally driver in person for the first time.

Very innovative chassis. Basically built around a composite sandwich floor & torque tunnel. Very clever, prob more advanced CHASSIS than even the Audis….and sooooo beautiful!
