And I thought DMR was state of the art radio. Seems like it very out dated programming. Why can't such a modern radio do this without programming. When we put in our digital id in the radio. It should be able to down load all this info. This is the 21st century not the 20th century.

@@clivewilkinson5394 yeah, radio programming is still way behind the times… even the big name brands have clunky interfaces. Thanks for watching.

I bought this 11 years ago and have used it for travel since then. ONLY complaint is that the PVC coating flakes off over time. So there are little flecks in constantly cleaning out of the pockets. But…10 years folks. Really not a complaint.

Hey - good video. I also have an MFJ1919EX - this past weekend, I operated and mother nature rained on us. Today I took it apart and noticed that there was rust inside the steel base, and the lower fiberglass poles were discolored with rust. Have you found a good way to clean inside the base tube and/or the poles themselves (and a good dry lube)? Thanks again ! 73

I did not see any actual power test in your review. I bought one of these from Amazon because of the advertised 10W output power. When I actual tested it (2m band) the highest output I could get was 6W, which is barely 0.8dB more than the typical 5W HT. So if you're buying one of these because of the allegedly higher output power, think twice!

Still studying for my technician license, and really am fascinated by all of this. Only reason I wouldn't be interested in using the internet repeaters is because if we ever had to communicate without the grid I’ll need to know how to work without it.

You should have an elbow coax adapter that comes off the antenna unit to make it so you can attach the coax

To me CHIRP = Compressed High Intensity Radar Pulse. Your video does not start at the "beginning" and assumed prior knowledge. This was the most confusing thing I have ever seen. I was unable to get a clear view of your actions. Not large enough for me to actually see what you were doing. For some maybe this was enough but not for me.

I have been looking for a way to make my coop and some rabbit hutches. I don’t have any tools nor knowledge of using them. But I can do this!!!! And I will do this for my rabbits. I have already watched this videos several times. And I am going to continue to watch this until I have everything I need to make my shelters. I plan to make some changes on my shelters. I like a lot of videos like this. I don’t care for those fancy ones because I don’t want to stress about trying to make mine fancy. But SIMPLE, STURDY AND FUNCTIONAL is what I’m looking for.

Can you get a list of repeaters inside the program, like chirp does? This gives us the option to locate Repeaters, and then copy and paste instead of entering 1-by-1 with all their individual settings. I seen you open a .dat file with a list of repeaters. Perhaps I can manually create a .dat file the program will import?
