Dude I’m 35 and never tried bjj I’m not flexible at all and I’m out of shape! Lol. I just want something fun that can help me work out and also help me if I’m in danger. Is this a good place to start or is this for people who want to learn and fight professionally? I never want to compete or anything I just can’t lift weights anymore I have a membership I don’t use because lifting is boring. Thanks man

This is one hellofa workout, there is tournaments, but you don’t always have to go if you don’t want to, it’s fun, nice people and teachers. If you are ever in danger, this art will protect you, most effect self defense. Not everyone here is in perfect shape, but that doesn’t matter, you don’t have to be in perfect shape to do Jiujitsu. so look into it if you feel like it! :)

thanks Gary! I think you gave me the missing piece to those positions in the way you put your hand through at the inside of elbow to gain final control of the kimura and Americana. I always am reaching for the end of their limb and it can be very difficult as they evade it. FYI- I visited your facility a few months ago... very cool vibe. Great leadership!

Training with Garry is awesome! His new BJJ school has a cage and its near the airport in Reno. Sometimes I just show up and give him Twenty bucks for the day to attend his beginners class and then the advanced class back to back; you simply can't beat that!
